The adviser to the President of Ukraine @Podolyak_M published pictures of the Bucha massacre (which chances are you've all already seen) on his Telegram channel along with a statement, which I want to share with the world, so I'll translate it in this thread: (1/10)
According to our European partners, the main objective is to not provoke Russians (twisted irony), right? To keep WWIII from starting? To not upset the Russians to a point where they’ll use… what?
(2/10)
@Podolyak_M Use missiles, air bombs, tanks, commit mass murders of civilians, bomb residential areas, organize mass shootings like in concentration camps? What haven’t they used yet?
(3/10)
@Podolyak_M As a consequence, the world got a new case of total unspeakable horrors of inhumanity in Bucha, Irpin, Hostomil. Hundreds, thousands of people killed, torn to pieces, raped, tied, raped again, killed again.
(4/10)
@Podolyak_M Hundreds, thousands of peaceful Ukrainian citizens. Killed with particular cruelty.
(5/10)
@Podolyak_M Big shot all-knowing former and current so-called leaders of Europe, hundreds of active European politicians eating well and sleeping soundly in their beds right now, don’t you want to look at this photo archive of a present-day Hell in the Kyiv region courtesy of Russians?
(6/10)
@Podolyak_M Did you want a Srebrenica for the XXI-century? Did you get it? Are you happy? Did you want to encourage the “Russian world” by reincarnating Treblinka? Did you want to recall the horrors of working crematoriums, burning people alive for being Ukrainians?
(7/10)
@Podolyak_M Will you try looking the other way again? Will you organize another summit where you’ll express concern and shake your head?
But one can’t forbid Russian literature in European countries, it’s so inhumane, right?
(8/10)
@Podolyak_M Look again at thousands of torn, raped, burnt Ukrainians. In the XXI century. During a “special operation”. Torn by RUSSIANS. Now tell the world again that the Russian Federation is OK, it’s business, and one shouldn’t ban Rachmaninov. Look at them and say it.
(9/10)
@Podolyak_M Or turn around. Because the main objective is to not provoke. Let them massacre Ukrainians en masse…"

Even the destruction of Mariupol makes some sense, however perverted and psychopathic it may be. The need to set up a terrestrial corridor to Crimea, to reach the administrative borders, the unwillingness to suffer losses in urban warfare...
(2/7)
The events in the Kyiv region can't be explained by anything other than a completely inhuman mentality. All that happened here didn't make any military sense. On the contrary, from that point of view, it hurt more than it helped.
(3/7)
I'll start chronologically with the events of 2014, AKA Euromaidan AKA Revolution of Dignity. First of all, it has nothing to do with Russian-speaking Ukrainians or any linguistical issue. Calling it a "coup" is also a misnomer. (1/24)
@KnoxieLuv@pennyjotts@Kawabanga0@christosxx2@mrsorokaa Nobody wanted Yanukovich removed from power. The actual sequence of events went like this: Yanukovich promised to sign a trade agreement with the EU, which was seen as a very popular decision, but under pressure from Putin backed down at the last moment. (2/24)
@KnoxieLuv@pennyjotts@Kawabanga0@christosxx2@mrsorokaa Which prompted a protest by a group of Kyivan students (Kyiv has always been mostly a pro-European city). Yanukovich's disproportionate response was to send in riot police not only to make them scatter, but to chase them down and beat them up, no mattter how far they ran. (3/24)
