My (late) thoughts on the UP vs UE game - a thread

This was a stark contrast to the first 3 games - we finally had a strong start in the game and we were leading the whole game. Though, we had a relatively week 4th quarter where UE was able to trim the lead.

We had a good shooting day. A 47% FG shooting with 59% 2pt FG is a the highest among the first 4 games. Also, we have seen the boys improve their FT shooting - making 20 of 27 (74%) of their FTs.

Coach Gold was able to field in 15 of our 16 players and was able to shuffle his players effectively. The rookies were able to play more than their usual minutes which will be good for the next games.

Nakikita na natin yung improvement sa chemistry. Ganda na nung pasahan, special mention to Fortea and Diouf for good passes in this game. Looking forward kung maging consistent tayo sa passing and ball movement sa mga susunod na games.

Several rookies were able to get their first points in the UAAP seniors in this game - @bismarcklina, @calimag_rc and @antoniomeusebio. Congrats rookies!

Bright spots:

1. Improved shooting (FG% and FT%)
2. Strong start
3. Player rotation, rookies getting minutes
4. Top +/- ratings: Lucero (+26), Diouf (+24) and Cagulangan (+22 with 100% FG shooting)

For improvement:

1. Rebounding (we were outrebounded - 36 to 39)

Over-all it was a good game for us and this is a good momentum builder for our games next week. The next games this week will be crucial. Hindi joke yung next 3 games (AdU, DLSU and FEU) so we should not be complacent despite the 3 straight wins).
