Olivia Rodrigo took home 2 awards on CBS’s #GRAMMYs telecast, including the much-coveted Best New Artist, to go along with a win for Best Pop Vocal Album for her album ‘Sour.’
In one of her acceptance speeches, the 19-year-old thanked her parents for their unyielding support. ‘When I was 9 years old, I told my mom I was going to be an Olympic gymnast even though I could barely do a cartwheel and she thought I was joking but I got super defensive.'
'So the next week, when I told her I was going to win a Grammy, she was very supportive even though I'm sure she thought it was just a little-kid pipe dream,’ Rodrigo said.
Despite those impressive wins, Rodrigo was shut out in 3 of the GRAMMYs’ ‘Big 4,’ losing out on Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year despite being heavily favored in all 3 categories ahead of the telecast.
Jon Batiste’s ‘WE ARE’ ended up taking home the Grammy for Album of the Year. Meanwhile, ‘Leave the Door Open,’ the debut single of the Bruno Mars/Anderson .Paak collab group Silk Sonic, took home wins for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday visited the town of Bucha, a suburb of Kyiv where the Russian military reportedly conducted mass civilian killings in recent days. Image
'We want you to show the world what happened here,' Zelenskyy told to the media gathered at the site. 'What the Russian military did. What the Russian Federation did in peaceful Ukraine. It was important for you to see that these were civilians.' Image
Ukrainian forces pushed their Russian counterparts into retreat from Bucha, but when they retook control of the area, they discovered hundreds of murdered civilians, many of whom had body parts like their arms and legs tied up. Some of the bodies were found in mass graves. ImageImageImage

He was caught when he showed up for a COVID-19 shot for the second day in a row at the same vaccination center, the German news agency DPA reported Sunday.
Police confiscated several blank vaccination cards from him and initiated criminal proceedings. It was not immediately clear what impact the COVID-19 vaccine shots, which were from different brands, had on the man’s health.

All young men in South Korea ages 18 to 28 are required to serve at least 18 months in the country’s military, and it looks like the stars of K-Pop megagroup BTS are no exception.
'It is very much expected that young Korean men serve the country and those BTS members are role models for many young-generation Koreans,’ said Gunn Kim, South Korea's ambassador to Britain, in an interview with the Sunday Times.
The ambassador made his remarks at a time when tensions between South Korea and North Korea are at an increased pitch, due to recent aggressive missile testing by the latter.

A massive avalanche in the suburbs of Anchorage, AK, forced residents to evacuate their homes on Sunday after the avalanche buried main roads in the area.
The avalanche sped down the area on Thursday night, burying the main road with snow up to 80 feet and leaving approx 100 homes without power.
