There’s been a rise in employee lawsuits demanding reimbursement for expenses incurred while working from home during the pandemic.

New: Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said he is launching a criminal investigation to find out who leaked security video of an incident in which a deputy knelt on the head of a handcuffed inmate for more than three minutes.

The Times published video last month of the 2021 incident and detailed efforts by department officials to keep it under wraps.

Villanueva told Fox 11 News the disclosure of the video to The Times amounted to a theft of investigative material.

Sean Parker went to DC with a plan: instead of taxing billionaires on capital gains, encourage them to put the money in “opportunity zones” to help poor communities.

And it happened… except for the part where the poor communities benefit.

In 2017, the Opportunity Zone program was born, creating what would become one of the largest federal programs for steering investment into low-income areas.

It allows investors to park their capital gains in Opportunity Zone projects.

When they do, they can put off paying taxes on those gains for years, and cut that tax bill by as much as 15% when it does come due.
