Another #GRAMMYs, another Justin Bieber shutout.

On 20 nominations — including Best New Artist, four for “Purpose”, Bieber has come up empty. But does he even care?

Nick Krewen writes. #Opinion
thestar.com/entertainment/…
The 28-year-old has won two Grammys, but both for collabs: in 2015, for adding vocals to the Skrillex and Diplo Best Dance Recording “Where Are Ü Now” and, in 2019, for teaming up with Dan and Shay on Best Country Duo for “10,000 Hours.” thestar.com/entertainment/…
“Justin Bieber has been in the industry for too long … and continues to get disrespected by the recording academy." His Beliebers, were quick to share their dissatisfaction on social media.

But does Bieber care about winning?
thestar.com/entertainment/…
If Bieber was disappointed, he didn’t express to his hundreds of millions of followers. And maybe this is the lesson here: perhaps winning a Grammy is one of the less important matters for someone who has grown up in the spotlight, survived and flourished.
thestar.com/entertainment/…
He’s in the midst of his 117-date “Justice” world tour — which returns to Toronto for two more Scotiabank Arena sellouts on June 7 and 8 — and his last world tour, “Purpose,” grossed $257 million (U.S.) and that’s minus merchandising sales.

Here’s why Justin Bieber’s Grammy shutout is no reason to weep. thestar.com/entertainment/…

Starting Thursday, fourth doses will be available for Ontarians over 60. But do you really need a shot?

Here’s what the federal advisory committee says:

Vaccinated people are still far less likely to get seriously ill should they get sick, research shows. But data from around the world also shows that the vaccines’ protection against infection decreases over time — a phenomenon not unusual for vaccines. thestar.com/news/canada/20…
“We know that vaccination provides excellent protection against illness,” Dr. Tara Kiran, a family doctor at St. Michael’s Hospital.

“There’s no question it lowers your risk and it lowers the risk of you spreading it to other people." thestar.com/news/canada/20…

After two years, high school teacher Laura Kirby-McIntosh was excited to return to the classroom for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

It lasted five days.

She — and her husband, who’s on dialysis — tested positive for COVID last weekend.

“I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck,” said Kirby-McIntosh, who believes she contracted the virus at school and transmitted it to her husband and teenager.

“What’s so frustrating is that we’ve done everything that we were told to do."

Do we really need a fourth COVID shot?

The federal advisory committee said Tuesday that Canada should get ready to rapidly deploy fourth doses as protection continues to wane, particularly for those 80 and older.
thestar.com/news/canada/20…
The recommendations for a fourth dose are coming now because generally speaking, the virus is continuing to circulate, and the contagious Omicron subvariant, BA. 2 is now dominant. Meanwhile, public health measures like masking are dropping across Canada.
thestar.com/news/canada/20…
Data from around the world has shown that the vaccines’ protection against infection decreases over time — a phenomenon that is not unusual for vaccines, but which has made people particularly vulnerable to these new, more easily spreading variants.
