This is a person who is an experienced and exceptional communicator in the field of climate science and policy, ready and able to lay out a positive plan for frightened Australians living through the climate crisis about how we can fix this mess..
To give credit where it’s due, I know of two other leading climate scientists who were contacted for this episode it could not appear due to having COVID. So, they did try. BUT.. there are more than two climate scientists in Australia. Hundreds, in fact, who would have been able.
I have legitimate questions about the editorial thought process behind platforming a climate denier. This week.. of all weeks.. A week when the third IPCC working group report has found overshooting 1.5C is almost certain.
