Why do the Shia Combine their Prayers (Namaz) ? : A Thread🧵

1. Shias allow for the combination of the 5 daily prayers(salah) into 3 times- whereas the majority of Ahle Sunnah scholars say that this is only permissible during journeys or in state of danger or war.Some Hanafi scholars don't accept this even in the aforementioned situations.

2. EVIDENCE FROM THE HOLY QURAN-
"Establish regular prayers at the sun's decline till the darkness of the night, and the recital of the Quran in the morning prayer; for the recital of the dawn is most witnessed." (17:78) [Surah Bani- Israel]

3. How many prayer times are mentioned in this verse? Yes,3,not 5. So, Prayers times from the Holy Quran are three, not five :
1. Sun's Decline
2. Darkness of the Night
3. The Morning Prayer.

4. REFERENCES FROM BOOKS OF AHLE SUNNAH -

▪️SAHIH MUSLIM, BOOK 4, HADITH NO 1515 :
"Ibn Abbas reported : The Messenger of Allah observed the noon and afternoon prayers together, and the sunset and Isha prayers together without being in a state of fear or in a state of journey."

▪️SAHIH MUSLIM, BOOK 4, HADITH NO 1520 :
"Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah combined the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer and the sunset prayer with the Isha prayer in Madina without being in a state of danger or rainfall."

6. And in the hadith transmitted by Waki the words are:
"I said to Ibn Abbas: What prompted him to do that?
He said: So that his ummah should not be put to (unnecessary) hardship."
These hadith appear in a chapter called : "Permissibility of combining two prayers on a journey."

▪️SAHIH MUSLIM, BOOK 6,HADITH NO 67:
"Abdullah ibn Shaqiq reported: Ibn Abbas one day addressed us in the afternoon (after the afternoon prayer) till the sun disappeared and the stars appeared, and the people began to say: Prayer, prayer. A person from Banu Tamim came there.

8. He neither slackened nor turned away,but (continued crying): Prayer, prayer.
Ibn Abbas said: May you be deprived of your mother, do you teach me Sunnah.

And then he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah combining the noon and afternoon prayers and the sunset and Isha prayers."
