[THREAD] Russian state-owned agency RIA Novosti published a post about the explosion in #Kramatorsk at 10:25, though the first reports from eyewitnesses appeared at about 10:30. Here are some more examples of Russian propaganda coverage of the attack, killing at least 39 people.
🔻 Russia's Defense Ministry insists that Russian troops do not use Tochka-U missiles (the missile the Russians used to hit Kramatorsk in the morning). But on March 6, Conflict Intelligence Team reported that Russia had resumed using this type of missile.
🔻 At 10:25 a.m., pro-Russian Telegram channels released a video of the launch of two missiles. The report said that the missiles were launched from Shakhtarsk, controlled by the so-called "DPR."
🔻 Propagandists, who reported that the Russians fired on the train station in Kramatorsk, deleted their publications after photos of killed civilians appeared, Russian outlet The Insider reports.
❗️[THREAD] Russian propagandists have made a false start while covering the #Kramatorsk attack, as they had once had with Boeing MH-17. Here is how Russians have given themselves away. [1/4]
Right after the strike on the #Kramatorsk train station, the Russian Telegram channel "Siloviki" shared a video of the explosion with the caption "Targeting the gathering of the Armed Forces of Ukraine militants." [2/4]
Several other Russian propaganda Telegram channels also published this post. Then the occupiers realized they had given themselves away and changed the caption to: "Tochka-U, used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has dropped." [3/4]
On April 3, RIA.Novosti published the article by Timofey Sergeytsev, where Moscow political scientist literally lays out Russia's plan of genocide against Ukrainians. So what does the Russian leadership with their sick imagination have in mind? [1/4] spravdi.gov.ua/en/kremlin-sty…
As seen from this propaganda article, for Russians, anyone who wants to escape Russia's totalitarian embrace and build a democratic society is a Nazi. And the methods they want to use for Ukraine's "denazification" are outrageous. We return to the dark times of Hitlerism. [2/4]
The "denazification of Ukraine" by Russia involves total occupation of Ukraine, terror against Ukrainians, destruction of Ukrainian statehood and the very memory of it, and prohibition of individual, civil, and political, human rights. [3/4]
🟥 Russians' atrocities: Kadyrovites in the Chernihiv region. The Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security continues publishing exclusive reports from the liberated areas. Read our latest report from Novyi Bykiv. [1/4]
Novyi Bykiv is located on the vector of the Russians' advance. Now, it is full of broken and abandoned equipment marked with the letter O. According to the witnesses, the Russian troops stationed in the village were the Kadyrovites. [2/4]
Russians placed their equipment right next to private houses. Then they would tell the locals that it was "banderivtsi" (alleged "Ukrainian Nazis") shooting at civilians. The occupiers were convinced they participated in the "Great Patriotic War," ongoing since 1941. [3/4]
THREAD: How Russia is trying to avoid the responsibility for #BuchaMassacre. We examined Russia's key manipulative narratives spread by the Kremlin across western social media. Here are some of their bogus messages 👇🏻
Russia blatantly lies that after 🇷🇺 troops retreated from #Bucha, the Ukrainian forces shelled the town, leading to civilian casualties. Analyzing this is meaningless, as the arms of the dead people were tied, and they were shot in their hearts, back of the head, and face.
"The photos and videos from #Bucha are similar to fake videos of the White Helmets from Syria." Here we see the efforts of Russian propaganda to shift the discourse from the Russian atrocities in Bucha to discussions around Serbia, Syria, and the "evil West."
The Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security is publishing exclusive reports from the most terrible #RussianWarCrimes locations. The Centre's employee visited Bucha, Hostomel, and other settlements and witnessed the crimes committed by Russian troops. [1/4]
🟥 Atrocities of Russians in the Kyiv region. Part 1, Mriya.
Garden society Mriya is located near Zdvyzhivka. In the first days of the occupation, people who came to prepare for the spring season were herded into a house, undressed, examined, and left in that very building. [2/4]
Midwife Iryna Marchenko is a living witness to the crimes of the Russians. "Green corridors" to Ukraine were constantly disrupted. The enemy also shot those who attempted to leave. The Russians deliberately destroyed our infrastructure on the first day," Marchenko says. [3/4]
