When they breathe, this organ is activated by moving the legs in different directions, they are able to locate a sound source.
They would be able to detect frequencies up to 190 kHz.

By comparison, humans can hear up to about 20 kHz & dogs up to about 60 kHz.
It is the most ultrasonic animal on the planet.
This ear could also help to avoid being on the same echolocation frequencies of its predators, the bats.
