Less is not always more. Sometimes more is more. See EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. A triumph of the more. The Daniels (@Daniels) find meaning in the all-at-onceness of our metamodern existence. In the everything and everywhere.
@Daniels When your eyes are welling up amidst hot dog fingers and a nihilistic spinning bagel, you know that you’re having a unique cinematic experience. And the match cut on action throughout different realities deserves special attention and praise. Reminded me of Sherlock Jr.
@Daniels But these seamless cuts take enormous effort and planning, especially at the volume and pace of #EverythingEverywhere. The Daniels have always had an eye for patterns and continuities and meanings in the realm of the absurd. This is a culmination.
@Daniels The performances were also spectacular and layered - especially Yeoh and Quan. They reveal what has always been possible and what we’ve been missing. I would have happily watched two more hours of their Wong Kar-wai reality. (Do we all have Wong Kar-wai realities of ourselves?)
