Been experimenting with Vellum distance constraints using them as muscles and bones.

Driving them with phased sine waves can be quite fun:

Here is the constraint network:
The gray and green constraints are rather stiff and maintain structure. the magenta ones pull and push to create motion.

I also experiment with friction so that the "toes" have high friction in their planting cycle and low when lifting.

haha that died the compression death...

The downside with this setup is that it took a bit of work to build all the constraints manually. Mostly via vex.

Upside is that it simulates close to realtime since it is so few constraints needed.
I will share the hip but I need to clean out the stuff that is not relevant. Lots of disordered dead end tests all over. Mesh model goes away too.
It is a bit like sodaconstructor (RIP) but in 3D.
If you want to play around with the system

Building Stairs thread:

I usually post 3D stuff but now it’s summer and I have to do TreeD instead for the house.

I want a spiral staircase to connect the basement to the house. Problem: 1cubic meter of concrete snd rock is in the way:
To be able to build the stairs I needed to 3D scan the space:
Bought a bunch of concrete to fill the hole. The truck got stuck and had to unload halfway up the driveway so I got some extra exercise moving the bags around.

Made a simple solver that takes a normal-map and spits out a displacement map.

I’m incredibly surprised that it even works seeing how horrendous the code is. But doing something really crappy thousands of times seem to result in a fairly ok result.
@sidefx Also why is there an AttributeFromMap and no MapFromAttribute?
