This is the most important part of your car's Suspension System.
Today I would like to give you a secret that will enable you to take good care of the shock absorbers and suspension system of your car.

A shock absorber is a mechanical or hydraulic device designed to absorb and damp shock impulses.
This is achieved by converting the kinetic energy (movement) of the shock into thermal energy, which is then dissipated into the atmosphere through the mechanism of heat exchange.
The key role of the shock absorber is to ensure that the vehicle’s tires remain in contact with the road surface at all times
Shock absorbers automatically adjust to road conditions because the faster the suspension moves, the more resistance they provide.
Basically, shock absorbers are the ones that reduce the vehicle's vibrations and other external pressure from affecting us and our cars.
💡Shock absorbers needs to be replaced after 80,000 Kilometre.
However, shock absorbers were not designed to last forever, although you can extend it's lifespan by regularly checking them.
💡 There are various symptoms that you indicate a problem in the shock absorbers.
The following are those few symptoms...
1. Vehicle bounces
Primary function of shock absorbers is to make sure tires stays on the ground.
Therefore if your car's shock absorbers are worn out, you'll notice a regular bouncing when you drive your car, and this will eventually leading to a bumpy, and uncomfortable ride
2. Longer stopping distance.
Shocks and struts help your vehicle to have a stability when you accelerate and engage braking.
Hence, when your shocks are damaged you'll notice that your vehicle will struggle when you accelerate or braking.
3. You will hear strange noises.
One of the telltale signs of a suspension system that requires service is unusual noise. As shocks and bushings wear, they lose their ability to properly support the strut.
Commonly noise here is like a knocking sounds from front or rear tires.
4. Fluid leaks
Depending on the type of shock absorber you have, through wear and tear, the shocks sealants can break and the fluid inside can leak out.
If and when this occurs, the loss of fluid will decrease the performance of the shock absorber and decrease its functionality
5. Vehicle's instability at high speeds.
As shocks absorbers wears, the suspension may not perform as well as it originally did.
You may notice less control when steering, that the car wanders slightly from side to side, increased bouncing, or “nose-diving” when braking.
🤚Therefore, you need to check and maintain your vehicle's shock absorbers regularly so as to ensure safety while you drive especially in current conditions on our roads.

These are symptoms or signs of a worn out or damaged Shock absorbers and they require immediate services.
