also, I distinctly remember being in first grade doing a science unit where the teacher put a glass of ice water on the table and asked us why we thought there was water on the outside
after I carefully observed the glass from all angles with my lil notepad in hand, I concluded, “the glass has tiny holes in it that you can’t see but that can let water out”

LMAOOOOOO #JobSecurity, the original chinese has no ambiguity btwn to smoke (e.g. a cigarette) vs. to emit smoke, but this translation introduces ambiguity, which isn’t inherent to english—the ambiguity is eliminated with the more accurate “give off smoke”; also, misses kidspeak
