Singapore Tourism Board Chief Executive Keith Tan: We have been working on how to open up to fully vaccinated travelers since last year…. Gradually we added more countries and reduced requirements.

Singapore Tourism chief Tan: We still have over a few thousand cases a day but the numbers requiring hospitalization, urgent care are very small.

Singapore Tourism chief Tan: It’s only been two weeks but we have seen a very sharp increase in arrivals from regional countries, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, even the Philippines we’ve seen some encouraging numbers. Not just for the first two weeks, but forward bookings.

Singapore Tourism chief Tan: We don’t need COVID insurance anymore. The only main requirement is please be vaccinated and have proof of it.

Singapore Tourism chief Tan: And 48 hours before departure, do a test. We allow antigen rapid testing... You don't need to do a test upon arrival. We have also relaxed a lot of domestic constraints.

SG Tourism chief Tan says a booster shot is not a requirement for now to be able to enter Singapore.

Singapore Tourism chief Tan: We are now very confident…even with large number of positive cases, the majority of cases, 99.7% have no symptoms or are very mild symptoms. So long as hospitals can cope and people are not getting hospitals in large numbers then we will deal with it

Singapore Tourism chief Tan says tourists just also need to download Singapore’s contact tracing app TraceTogether. He says the unified app has helped the country curb the disease
