New: Ukraine is the Obama-Biden team's second major proxy war against Russia.

The first was Syria, where the US armed sectarian insurgents and helped create an Al Qaeda safe haven. As @JakeSullivan46 wrote in 2012: "Al Qaeda is on our side in Syria."
realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2022/…
ISIS leader al-Qhurayshi was killed in a Feb. 3 US raid in Idlib. Overlooked is that this Al Qaeda enclave was conquered with US support.

Now, as senior Biden official Brett McGurk said in 2017: "Idlib is the the largest Al Qaeda safe haven since 9/11."
In 2016, John Kerry privately admitted that the US "watched" ISIS spread in Syria in the hopes they could leverage that to oust Assad. Russia intervened in Syria, he said, "because they didn’t want a Daesh [ISIS] government."

The commitment by @RobertMackey & his @theintercept editors to the US state line on Syria is a model for media hacks everywhere.

3 years since OPCW leaks & whistleblowers undermined US claims of a chemical attack in Douma, Mackey & TI still won't acknowledge their existence:
.@RobertMackey claims OPCW experts "concluded that a toxic chemical, most likely chlorine, was used" in Douma. He omits that the OPCW experts who actually went to Syria concluded otherwise, but were censored.

Their leaks have been public for 2+ years: wikileaks.org/opcw-douma/
But who cares about leaks that show the OPCW suppressing and doctoring its own findings to support of the US narrative?

No need for @RobertMackey to let us know about that. He has better sources: articles, including his own, written *before* the OPCW leaks surfaced. Case closed!

In October 2019, Stephen F. Cohen (RIP) implored DC to support Zelensky's peace mandate.

"His life is being threatened by a quasi-fascist movement," Cohen said. "He can’t go forward with full peace negotiations unless America has his back." Siding with fascists, DC chose war.
Full video/transcript of Cohen's remarks: thegrayzone.com/2019/11/13/ukr…
This week, John Mearsheimer, speaking to @KatrinaNation, noted the continued alliance between DC and Ukraine's far-right:

"The Americans will side with the Ukrainian right... Both do not want Zelensky cutting a deal with the Russians that makes it look like the Russians won."

Today is 4 years since Douma massacre. US claimed it was a chemical weapons attack & bombed Syria. OPCW found no evidence of CW, but its findings were doctored & censored. Also confirmed is that a hospital scene was staged.

Ongoing OPCW cover-up denies justice to Douma victims.
A key reason that we still don't know how the Douma victims died is because, as OPCW leaks show, a senior official blocked an effort to consult a forensic pathologist, who could have helped determine the cause/time of death. This was rejected & censored. thegrayzone.com/2021/12/06/cor…
Amazingly, OPCW itself admits that it has no idea how the victims died, even as it disingenuously suggests that Syria dropped gas cylinders.

The leaks explain why: the OPCW censored countervailing evidence, including the views of toxicologists who *ruled out chlorine gas.* ImageImageImageImage

Conclusions being drawn from this story far exceed what it proves. Some bodies were next to "what appears to be an impact crater" -- aka shelling during battle, not execution by gunshot. Hence why NYT also acknowledges that the "causes of death are unclear."
"The causes of death are unclear. Some of the bodies were beside what appears to be an impact crater."
I'm also unclear why the NYT is confident that all of the bodies observed in the satellite images are civilians, as opposed to soldiers killed by shelling in battle. How did NYT confirm that they're civilian?

WSJ: On Feb. 19, German chancellor Scholz proposed to Zelensky that Ukraine "renounce its NATO aspirations and declare neutrality as part of a wider European security deal" signed by both Putin and Biden. Zelensky said no.

wsj.com/articles/vladi… ImageImage
Recall Zelensky's recent admission: NATO told him that Ukraine won't be allowed to join, "but publicly, the doors will remain open."

So NATO told Zelensky that his country would be used to bait Russia, and he went along with the charade. Was it worth it?

.@Tim_Hayward_ tweeted out a @TheGrayzoneNews article by @MaxBlumenthal that questions the allegation that Russia bombed the Mariupol theater.

This was deemed sufficient grounds by the @thetimes & online McCarthyites to now accuse him of “spreading Russian propaganda”:
Just look at this lede, in which a purported news outlet chastises Hayward for merely raising a question that is a tenet of doing journalism: “What do we know?”
Here’s the original sin/article: thegrayzone.com/2022/03/18/bom…
