But he REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY EXAMPLES from the rejected books

So we tracked down 8 of them

3. We obtained 4 math textbooks for elementary students rejected by Florida

There is ZERO discussion of race, racism, or anything related

There are examples of concepts related to "social emotional learning" (SEL)

4. Along w/many math problems, there are short sections encouraging kids to be nice

“How can you show that you value the ideas of others?”

"Tell your partners you can do it!"

This is the "dangerous" ideology DeSantis is protecting Florida kids from

5. DeSantis and right-wing activists claim that SEL is just CRT by another name.

But the SEL content of these math books shows that's a lie

Encouraging students to "work together" and "listen to our friends and teachers" is not indoctrination or CRT

In fact, Florida's own standards REQUIRE “multicultural representation” in all K-12 math textbooks

9. Some of the rejected high school math textbooks are very puzzling

There were 5 pre-calc textbooks rejected for "prohibited topics."

We obtained 2, and they are just page after page of of quadratic functions, trigonometry, and parametric equations.

10. These books bear absolutely no resemblance to the claims made by DeSantis and his allies

Perhaps that's why DeSantis has refused to provide any examples

Perhaps DeSantis was counting on the fact that many of these textbooks are difficult to obtain
