Short thread about @Qullamaggie scans which he used mainly back in 2017 and earlier. Noted it many times before, for me his old videos are much more interesting compared to nowadays in terms of scans and setups (much smaller acc. size)
❗️Scans ≠ setups ❗️
ADR Scan
▶️ADR stocks separately
▶️Dollar Volume: 1.500.000 $ (TC divides it by 100)
▶️ADR (20 day) criteria
▶️sort out slow moving stocks
▶️100*(avg(h/l,20)-1) (formula for TC2000)
▶️only intraday range -> difference to ATR
▶️doesn't count for gaps (up or down)
Biggest one month gainers
▶️he used trend intensity criteria by @PradeepBonde (but removed it nowadays)
▶️avgc7/avgc65
▶️he used it in different time frames
▶️price growth 3 month c/minl63
▶️6 month c/minl126
▶️1 year c/minl252
High Trend Intensity Scan
▶️pure momentum scan
▶️faster EMA7 more than 8 % above slower EMA65 -> indicates a momentum move
▶️trend intensity combined with ADR
▶️I think he no longer use it nowadays
OTC San
▶️lower price and volume criteria
▶️mostly not really liquid names
Recent IPOs
▶️IPO stocks work really well on technical analysis
▶️momentum trading
▶️add a column with price growth 1year to sort it
▶️stocks without a price history >1 year wont' have a number -> these are the IPOs
5 day gainers
▶️another momentum scanner
▶️high momentum stocks last 5 days
▶️find good short ideas
▶️up 5 days in a row
▶️parabolic move etc.
5 day losers
▶️same principle like above but with the opposite criteria
▶️find mean reversion trades
▶️not the best scan but sometimes good mean reversion trades in it
Biggest 1 year losers
▶️a lot of potential in it
▶️scan for the 3.45 % weakest stocks in the past 1 year
▶️beaten down names can make a huge move in the right market environment
▶️market bottom
Biggest 2 year losers
▶️same like before but with 2 year momentum to the downside
Today's momentum watchlist
▶️intraday scan
▶️put many names of the previous scans in one watchlist and scans for it intraday
▶️todays range % vs. ADR 20
▶️e.g. ADR20 = 10 % --> the stock have to be up > 5.5 %
▶️good to see what is moving, which stocks are working
Breakout scan
▶️same principle like "Today's momentum watchlist" but for every US stock
EP Scan
▶️one of the most important scans
▶️pre market scan
▶️stocks with gap ups in pre market
▶️driven by news or earnings
ADsorted by today's change
▶️intraday scan
▶️just to see which stocks are up and working
▶️sorted by today's change
OTC Scan
▶️intraday scan
▶️just to see which stocks are up and working
I like historical charts, gives me confidence in the setups and it's fun 😛
▶️trading tools change over time but not the human behind each trade
▶️basic human behavior was the same in 1700 and it's the same in 2021
▶️fear and greed, basics of momentum moves
South Sea company in 1720
▶️the $GME or $AMC in 18th century
▶️5* setups in it
▶️typical characteristics of a momentum move
▶️added the MA10, M20, MA50 in the chart, magic lines like @Qullamaggie is always saying 😅
▶️you can even find @markminervini VCP patterns in it
▶️basic market tendencies of high tight flags
▶️orderly pullbacks which lead to flag structures have the tendency to continue the move after some kind of volatility contractions in the base
