A pro-Trump military veteran who re-enlisted in the U.S. Army after he attacked cops at the Capitol on Jan. 6 in support of Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election has pleaded guilty.
Both Army veteran James Mault and his co-defendant Cody Mattice face an eight-year max at their sentencing in July.
James Mault admitted to a judge that, before he assaulted cops with chemical spray, he tried to convince them to join the mob, telling them they’d still have their jobs “after we kick the shit out of everyone.”
“Your jobs will be here when you come back after we kick the shit out of everyone…. What we’re doing is right, or there wouldn’t be this many fucking people here.” — James Mault to cops on Jan. 6.

James Mault swore he would “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic” just months after he took part in the Jan. 6 attack to overthrow the 2020 election. huffpost.com/entry/james-ma…
"That Mault could rejoin the Army ― when he was listed as suspect no. 142 on the FBI’s Capitol Violence wanted list ― raises serious questions about recent promises the Pentagon has made to better screen recruits for ties to extremism.” huffpost.com/entry/james-ma…
Sentencing now underway for Jan. 6 defendant Clifford Meteer, whose friend messaged him "you are so lucky that you are White. Lol" after he stormed the U.S. Capitol.
"Trump Lives Matter...[f]rom my position, the insurrection was trying to frame Pres Trump with the collusion delusion."
“Child development researchers, by the way, share that concern; some of them even attribute increases in childhood depression and anxiety rates to the increasingly autoentric neighborhoods in which most North American kids are raised.”
CDC has concluded that mask order is necessary, per @PeteWilliamsNBC. DOJ will appeal, but will not seek an emergency stay of the judge’s ruling, so the mandate will not be in place while the appeal proceeds.
