I left London to prove a point and that is people are suffering whilst living in inhumane and in many cases slum conditions across the 🇬🇧 at the hands of Social Housing Providers and Landlords.

This thread will unfortunately prove just that 🧵🧏🏽‍♂️👇🏽:
LIVERPOOL 🇬🇧- (Labour) This Riverside Housing Association tenant in Liverpool told me he’s had 25-30 leaks in different rooms of his home. With water pouring through his electrics.

He’s still waiting for a response and worried for his safety 🤦🏽‍♂️😷🧵 #RT
CEO:
ESSEX 🇬🇧- (Conservative) This is a CLARION HOUSING ASSOCIATION New Build in Essex. Come and look at this absolute MESS.

The whole block got flooded.
🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️👇🏽 #RT
I was told the Labour MP John Cruddas and councillors were contacted but tenants heard nothing back. They did however later get leaflets telling them to vote in the May 5th elections from Labour.

⚠️: video includes swearing!
⚠️ Multiple residents had to be evacuated and multiple homes flooded and destroyed. This new build went up in 2012 I was told. Residents started complaining of issues in 2014.

How Clarion Housing Associations CEO is still in a job I’ll never know 🤦🏽‍♂️

🚨 Another Home, this time a home in Clapham run by Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing. I met twin sisters who have both suffered. This is the 6th leak in her sons bedroom the latest she told me happened on Boxing Day yet nothing has been done🤦🏽‍♂️👇🏽🧵 #RT
“The figures come first instead of the tenants”

“I have no faith in Metropolitan Thames Valley”

“The MP’s response was crap”

Time and time again I hear tenants saying the same things 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️.

Mums daughter can’t be discharged from hospital after recently receiving Chemotherapy.
🚨 The door was swollen after this leak they couldn’t get out for over 12 hours. Even trying to climb out of the window was impossible as they don’t fully open

🚨 The worst case of Mould and Damp I’ve ever seen. Catalyst Housing Association have allowed this tenant to live in a property with mould eating the walls. Dad constantly vomits during the night and mum/kids have asthma. They’ve complained since 2018. A thread 🧵 👇🏽 #RT🙏🏽
🚨 Part of a wall in the front room of the house. The mould is eating through the wall and the ceiling that collapsed has still not been fixed even though it happened more than a year ago 👇🏽🤦🏽‍♂️🧵
🚨 This is another part of the front room. Absolutely horrific. The young kids and mum/dad have been stuck in here even during lockdown. They’ve told Catalyst time and time again🧵🤦🏽‍♂️😷

The worst case of Cockroaches I have come across along with other issues. A cockroach infestation so bad the kids and mum say they crawl all over them at night with one crawling into mums ear 👂🏽 only a few days ago.

A thread 🧵 below 👇🏽
This leak has been going since the 11th of January. Black mould covering the wall behind. Her kids are all below the age of 12 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️. Thread 🧵👇🏽

🚨Yesterday, I was called by a Westminster Council tenant. Central Heating hot water pipe exploded flooding their flat at 4am. Mum sustained burns trying to escape. This is the elderly tenants house below who woke to boiling hot water pouring on her in bed
BBC tonight at 6:30pm🤦🏽‍♂️
The water was so hot in the property it’s visible on this video with the steam. The water was so hot it melted one of the tenants rubber wellie boots that they wore to escape melted. There was an 11 month baby in the house too 🤦🏽‍♂️ the worst case of negligence I have come across.
It was said a member of the council said ‘it’s not as bad as it looks’ (without visiting the home) and that the ‘tenants should of had insurance’. I was physically shaking when I met the tenants.

🚨Croydon Council this time. This mum has been complaining about damp/mould and a mice infestation so bad she regularly finds mice/droppings💩 amongst her kids clothes. Croydon have done nothing in response to her complaints. Disgusting from them. Please RT 🙏🏽❤️ ImageImageImageImage

@SteveReedMP 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽 your constituent contacted me out of desperation as nothing has been done after many complaints and she’s worried for the safety of her kids. It shouldn’t take her contacting me for intervention.
