The fetishization of the remains of Black People is disturbing in #bioanth. Even today, it speaks to how Western science operates on the basis of ⚪ supremacy/privilege that really shows the indifference about Black life that is socialized into our society. #ReturnDelisha

We also begin 2 see individualism take form here. "It's not me". A few bad apples is a lie. How we operate now is still through a violent system that reproduces itself through, silence, distancing, coercion & whisper networks that teach people how to be better @ the violence

We think that reform, through policy changes, name changes, etc., are some magic erasing tools that will redress the problem. However reform is a concealing tool that doesn't want to speak about the past failings but used to 'ensure' they don't happen again...until they do 4/5
Reform doesn't negate that there are still thousands of remains of Black People in museums across the US that are still largely not addressing the desecration of our ancestors. #ReturnDelisha shows why this very concept is flawed & is there to maintain power & not remove it 5/5
