Situation in Mariupol Azovstal growing more dire. Marine commander Serhiy Volyna says ~600 wounded troops in serious condition, w/o meds, in unsanitary conditions; 100s of civilians including many kids, people with disabilities underground. They’re running out of food and water.
Volyna pleads with world leaders and diplomats for a WWII Dunkirk-style evacuation of troops and civilians from Azovstal.

I can confirm via Ukrainian administration source that Secretary of Defense Austin & Secretary of State Blinken have met in Kyiv with President Zelensky, the first visit by US officials since Russia’s full-scale invasion. No media was present. Now we await details of the meeting.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky has published photos of himself with US Secretary Blinken and Secretary Austin in Kyiv Sunday and said their visit “at this crucial moment for the Ukrainian state is very valuable and important.”
Zelensky said he discussed with top US officials Blinken and Austin “defense assistance, strengthening sanctions against Russia, financial support for Ukraine and security guarantees.“

2 Russian cruise missiles struck Odesa this afternoon, while 2 others were shot down. 5 people killed, 18 injured. Info via Ukraine's Southern Operational Command, which said missiles were launched by Russian aircraft from Caspian Sea, and Zelensky's chief of staff @AndriyYermak.
Yermak: "Among those killed is a three-month-old baby. A child who was supposed to celebrate their first Easter with their parents."

No Easter ceasefire. While Russia refocuses its offensive in the Donbas, it continues to pound other areas of Ukraine with missiles.
Aftermath of the missile strikes on Odesa seen in the video below shared by a Ukrainian Interior Minister advisor.

A major Russian offensive has begun in the Donbas. Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of @NSDC_ua: "This morning, an active phase of the Russian offensive began almost along the entire frontline [in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv regions]. The occupiers tried to break through our defenses."
.@GeneralStaffUA also reported "signs of the beginning of an offensive operation in the Eastern Operational Zone." It said Russian forces intensified attacks near Izyum & Sloviansk, as well as around Severodonetsk & Popasna, & in the direction of Kurakhove & Zaporizhzhia areas.
I just spoke to a Ukrainian commander on the frontline near Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, who said their positions are being hit by Russian airstrikes and heavy artillery 14 hours a day. They are "desperate" for more help, he said, outgunned, and running low on ammunition.

Awaiting further confirmation but Maksym Marchenko, head of Odesa Regional Military Admin, claims Ukrainian Neptun missiles earlier today hit Russian cruiser "Moskva" of the Black Sea fleet. You may recall it as the warship that Kyiv's Snake Island defenders told to "fuck off."
This might be as close to confirmation as is possible right now from the Russian side that Moskva was hit. RIA state news agency says a fire on board and the warship was “seriously damaged.”

!! President Zelensky just published this photo of Viktor Medvedchuk, Putin pal and Ukrainian pro-Russian politician, cuffed and dressed in Ukrainian uniform. He says the security service nabbed him in a “special operation.” He had been on the run after breaking house arrest.
Here’s what an aide to Medvedchuk told me three days after Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Warning: graphic. Horrific images & reports from Kramatorsk train station where state railway company board chairman Oleksandr Kamyshin says more than 30 people killed, 100+ others injured in a Russian rocket attack. 1000s of civilians fleeing the Donbas were there. 🎥: Kamyshin
At least one Tochka-U rocket struck the Kramatorsk train station, according to Oleksandr Kamyshin of the state railway company. He said the attacked damaged infrastructure and forced the station closed. Nearby Slovyansk just a few km north is still working. 📸 via Kamyshin
Zelensky commented on the Kramatorsk attack on Telegram: “Lacking the strength and courage to stand up to us on the battlefield, [Russian forces] are cynically destroying the civilian population. This is an evil that has no limits. And if it is not punished, it will never stop.
