Moist von Lipwig has committed to one of the dates he has called his birthday and stuck with it these last few years. He can’t remember if it’s his real one, but it functionally is now anyway.
Death has no birthday and doesn’t celebrate one (he tried once but was advised that it was inappropriate). He sends Susan a card every year on hers, though, with a couple of ancient valuable coins inside, in the manner of those with adult grandchildren everywhere.
Agnes has a quiet affair with a nice cake, probably baked by one of Nanny’s daughters-in-law and delivered by Nanny herself along with a bottle of something strong. Perdita drinks it and they end the night on a inn table singing duets together to huge applause from the patrons.
Carrot also keeps his birthday mostly a secret, but a lot of watch officers know and they throw him a work party with no alcohol and a “carrot cake”. Though he tries to discourage them, he loves it and gives an inspiring little speech every year before going to dinner with Angua.
Igors have a complicated relationship with birth and age and long ago decided to keep it simple by all celebrating their birthday on a designated date, like horses. This is one of the few times they will get together with other Igors just for fun.
