1. So while I can guarantee that I had a better time today than the "Rolling Thunder" crowd did (despite what they may believe) I thought it might be useful to provide a bit of a summary of the day's events in Ottawa.
3. I usually head to the usual suspects when I cover these stories and one of those people i look at is Kim Kerr who was also a participant in the February #OttawaOccupation.

Today though he had some bad luck.
4. While waiting for the police to finish doing what they were doing Kerr gives a shoutout to Pat King and Tyson "Freedom George" Billings as "truth tellers.
5. Turns out his parking break is shit and would have to be towed which is a surprise as his bus looks so mechanically sound and cared for... /sarc
6. While waiting for the tow truck Kerr decides to continue to be obnoxious.
7. Here he argues about the rates.

I know this is all mundane but I spent time making the clips so I'm forcing you to suffer through it all with me.
8. I'm really not entirely sure why, but at one point Kerr hides in his bus again resulting in the police telling him that if he doesn't get out they will but the window to take him out and arrest him.
9. So, rather than getting to play at the "Rolling Thunder" event which is TOTALLY not a protest and TOTALLY only for "the veterans" Kerr will spend much of his day in a garage.

Sad face.
10. So as Jim Kerr wouldn't be at the event, I turned to "Mr. Freedom."

Again, THIS is "Mr. Freedom."

Sigh...
11. So let's jump into it with the second speaker I watched.

Not surprisingly it was a hodgepodge of conspiracy theories, how "they" control us, and how Elon Musk will bring free speech to Twitter.
12. Part 2 of the same speaker.

Sounds like it is also turning into a Christian revival.
13. Now we have what looks to me like a Roman Catholic priest or deacon (I can't really hear) who is disseminating anti-science conspiracies about Covid and praising both Rebel News and True North News as the real truth tellers.

Also, the #OttawaOccupation was super cool!
14. I'm sure you also heard the padre comparing the Holocaust to Covid mandates in the previous clip (spoken on the National War Memorial).

It doesn't get any better.
15. There is a lot to unpack with this speaker too, but one thing that I laughed out loud when I heard it was when he condemns the government for having "caged the War Memorial."
16. Unmentioned was why a fence was put up.

ottawa.ctvnews.ca/police-look-to…
17. Among the people I personally didn't see speaking anywhere (and I will gladly be corrected if I'm wrong) was Chris Saccoccia, aka "Chris Sky."

"World's most prolific human rights advocate..."

And yes, when I think "Chris Sky" I think vast knowledge and articulate. /sarc
18. According to their website, Chris was the only person listed as a speaker.

19. But while I can't find any video of him speaking, he did grace the participants with his presence.

Such that it was.
20.
21. I also can't help but note the definitive lack of motorcycles in this motorcycle rally, but what do I know?

Hope everyone got their 10,000 steps in for the day.
22.
23. This stroll was also posted by "Mr. Freedom.

I don't know, but why is it that I hear bleating when they shout "freedom"?
24. On the plus side, remember this post from yesterday on far-right psuedo-journalist Leigh Stewart's Telegram suggesting the targeting of the "loved ones" of police officers?

25. Perhaps it is egocentric of me, but I'm going to take the W on this as Stewart appears to have decided that is a bad look on her.
26. Now one figure that has been absent in my reports here is Tyler Russell of the racist and anti-Semitic Canada First who was one of the more prominent participants in the February #OttawaOccupation.

antihate.ca/canada_first_e…
27. Evidently he is not a fan of "Rolling Thunder" because... checking my notes...

Because it isn't racist, anti-Semitic, anti-LGBTQ+, or transphobic enough.
28. As for Diagolon's Alex Vriend...

antihate.ca/holocaust_deni…
29. ...you continue to be easy to provoke.
30.
31. A bit of a palate cleanser.

New night, new mug. In this case literally and it was gifted to me today be a very special person. 🙂
32. Is seems that Saccoccia (aka Chris Sky) did speak.

I'm not sure if most of these people would recognize the truth any longer.

33. In any case @Justin_Ling did yeoman service today in his reporting of the "Rolling Thunder" event including Chris Saccoccia's whine. Check out his thread.

34. @EvanLSolomon also covered the event, including Saccoccia's barely coherent screed.

1. Well it looks like the "Rolling Thunder" event turned into exactly what it was expected to have been, though the participants have been met with a much different police response.

So let's get started.
2. You'll remember that there was a controversy about Holocaust denier Chris Saccoccia's (aka Chris Sky) involvement.

3. Well he is currently in Ottawa and, despite his claims that the police were totally on side, he seems a bit upset.

1. So this weekend another event is set to take place in Ottawa.

January/February was "Operation Bearhug."

April 29/30 is "Rolling Thunder."

Apparently.

ctvnews.ca/canada/rolling…
2. The key figure behind this event is Neil Sheard, a man who claims to have served 12 years in the CAF. Here on March 26 he said that if people in Ottawa thought the trucker rally was loud, wait until 1000s of motorcycles arrive.

1. Remember when I wrote there was some news on the Kevin Goudreau threats.

This was it.

antihate.ca/charges_neo_na…
2. Goudreau has a long history of this kind of behaviour, a fraction of which is outlined here.

3. Now sadly Goudreau isn't in custody and he continues to be active on his Telegram pages denying the charge while also referring to my fellow board member as a scumbag and writing "I can't wait to find out who sent Warman these lies" which seems, at least to me, to be a threat. ImageImage

1. A couple of weeks ago I published a thread concerning the rhetoric of Marcus Ray (real name Mark Chilcott). It received a lot of attention at the time and the situation has appeared to have escalated... sort of.

2. Another video has been floating around of one of Marcs Ray's followers who is convinced that "patriots" will soon be gathering en mass and "taking back" BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
3. The TikTok channel with was found at has been deleted but a friend managed to get screen shots of some of the comments.

Despite Marcus Ray's claims their event will be peaceful is seems clear that his supporters believe there will be violence. ImageImageImage

1. When the convoy organizers were arrested, the participants went home, and the #OttawaOccupation ended, a lot of people decided that the crisis was over and they moved on to other concerns.

In fact the people who were radicalized and motivated by the convoy are still active.
2. In communities across the country and despite mandates ending (we can argue about whether this is justified), the same rage based in large part on misinformation continues to fuel slow rolls, protests, and harassment campaigns.

An example.

dailyhive.com/vancouver/prot…
3. Among the people still agitating are people like Chris Saccoccia (aka Chris Sky) who, having found a credulous audience who doesn't mind his frequent verbal abuse directed at them, continues to gin up fear and anger for his own aggrandizement as well as for fun and profit.

1. Today @antihateca published this story by @misterEpete which is probably one of the best investigative and undercover journalistic efforts I have ever had the fortune to witness.

2. For years while running the blog I tried to crack the Hammerskins but was never really successful in doing so.

Today @misterEpete cracked that nut.
3. The story in many ways has its origins during the summer of 2019 when Pegida held another of their hate rallies which resulted in a major incident at the Eaton's Centre.
