It marks one full year for the 3rd term of the hyped TMC government.

Let me point out a few that I can remember, and I will try to be as objective as possible. Included a few of their much advertised strong points also. Please read the long thread (1/n)

1) post poll violence - over 50 political workers killed, many tortured, raped, brutalized. Thousands fled hometown, India Today reports 303 yet to return

2) unemployment rate has seen absolutely no improvement (ignoring the terrible 2nd wave months)

3) fake vaccines - multiple incidents reported, famously a special vaccination drive was organized for the differently abled and even they were jabbed with the fake vaccine

4) news of fake IAS, fake police officers hobnobbing with TMC heads were doing the rounds

5) post poll violence continued even in the local municipal body elections

6) HC judges recused themselves from hearing cases against TMC

7) serious scams involving government job/teacher recruitment resurfaced

8) Bengal slipped down rankings on vegetable production

9) one judge from Calcutta high Court was beaten and threatened after he ruled against a TMC minister

10) kids died by electrocution due to waterlogged condition of roads

11) nearly a thousand bombs discovered just from one district of Birbhum

12) Nature of violence stopped being just political, even apolitical targets were realized.

13) A very senior police officer cried helplessly as his daughter was harassed by a TMC member

14) opposition councilors were killed in full public view

15) opposition ministers were attacked left, right and center. Even the assembly house saw a full blown street fight.

16) RW youths and the left's Red volunteer kids were also not spared when they went about distributing aide in the pandemic

17) land rights agitation intensified in Deucha Pachami and Loba. Incidentally, a non entity in Parambrata has been made the chairman of such a committee for shilling for TMC

18) Bengal ranked the or one of the lowest in rankings for job creation, export readiness

19) RAMPURHAT MASSACRE - 8 women and children killed mercilessly due to faction fighting within TMC

20) Hanskhali - A minor was raped, burnt alive to cover up evidence. Accused was the son of a TMC leader. CM asked, "will you call it love affair, rape or an unwanted pregnancy?"

21) Bolpur rape case - a father burdened with loan had given away his daughter to an alleged TMC local leader. TMC spokesperson defended it by saying "whether a father will sell his daughter or if he will take her for a trip is not the government's problem"

22) open firing between fighting groups witnessed near Behala, Bansdroni, Regent Estate in kolkata in a very short span of time. The Mayor of Kolkata remarked, "if these fighting stop, then the police will become unemployable. CM then started a police enquiry

23) news of a temple being vandalized was shared by CPM's Fuad Halim

24) Hospitals started getting burdened by Swasthyo Sathi scheme

25) IFB Agro officially declares giving 40 crore as political donation after a good thrashing

26) Left student leader Anis Khan gets killed

27) Flipkart opens a warehouse in Bengal

28) Bengal has the highest inflation ( 7.1% ) amongst all the big states of the country

29) MindTree promises to open office in Kolkata

30) Deloitte might open one branch office in Kolkata

31) EY GDS will open one branch office here

32) Mamata Banerjee gets investment commitments from the much maligned Gautam Adani

33) Bengal government cuts budget for school education. Now add to this the high inflation and you get the drift

34) TMC leaders called upon for CBI enquiry line up at SSKM for cover

35) The state coffers run dry and the Municipal boards find it difficult to pay salaries

36) West Bengal has to cut funds for CAPEX creation

37) ED attaches properties of a few lotteries operating in this state, surprisingly the beneficiary of those were Anubrata Mondal

38) TMC leader openly calls to lynch biharis

39) West Bengal minister boasts publicly about topping the MGNREGA list

40) West Bengal also tops the list of unpaid MGNREGA dues

41) kids mistake bombs as cricket balls and dies due to explosion, not one or two, but many of them

42) Maoist terror again makes the news in West Bengal

43) West Bengal announces the least amount of prize money for winning Olympians, but even with the state's neglect Bengal reached Santhosh trophy final

44) West Bengal faces huge problem serving mid day meals

45) West Bengal government ran an initiative to bridge the 2 year schooling loss due to the covid pandemic, was heavily criticised for the utter chaos in implementation

46) Business Summit - CM claimed to have got a commitment of investment worth of 23% GDP of the entire state

47) CM refuses to give land for an additional airport

48) Fuel is mostly more expensive in Bengal than most other states due to higher taxation

49) Mother Dairy wanting to expand in Bengal. Similar stories were shared for Amul since 2014, but sadly no development in 8 years

Ending on a happy note

50) over 30,000 crore spent in last year Durga Puja suggests to have given the economy some lift
