1. The remarks of Russian FM Lavrov are absurd, dangerous and deserve of condemnation. Lavrov is propagating the inversion of the Holocaust - turning the victims into the criminals on the basis of promoting a completely unfounded claim that Hitler was of Jewish descent. 1/2
2. Equally serious is calling the Ukrainians in general, and President Zelenskyy in particular, Nazis. This, among other things, is a complete distortion of the history and a serious affront to the victims of Nazism. 2/2

So, what happened in @Harvard last week? I was invited to give a lecture on The Legal Strategy of Israeli Settlements. I said I’m not a jurist but they insisted. Finally, I agreed. I am not sure Israel’s position on that issue was ever presented in the prestigious @Harvard_Law.
When I arrived to the auditorium, I was surprised by the very high attendance. I should have known better 😄. When I started speaking some 100 well organized demonstrators left the room, fists raised, with anti Israeli signs. Some 80-90 stayed and we had a great event, incl Q&A
The demonstrators were the usual “From the River to Sea” crowd of rabid Israel haters recruited from all over the campus. They were led by an Arab-Israeli that in his bio in @HarvardDivinity website (!!!) defines all of Israel as “occupied Palestine”.

The claim that Israel shot demonstrators is a blatant lie. For a peaceful demonstration inside Gaza, Israel would gladly provide water and megaphones. But those were attempts to invade Israeli territory and border communities to indiscriminately slaughter civilians. 1/4
If even one attempt to breach the border fence had succeeded - 1000s would have run in a matter of seconds into our territory and communities to kill and set afire. THAT would have been a carnage, on both sides. 2/4
It is not a guess. Hamas top leader Sinwar said explicitly: “My next demon will be delivered in Nahal Oz. We will tear down the fence and tear off the hearts from the Zionists bodies”. 3/4
