Please help spread the word to mothers in #Limerick.
MAMA SING is an arts-based, participatory project for mothers living in Direct Provision as well as other mothers in the community. We use singing and music as a tools for self-care, empowerment & community building.

We invite you to take part in our online sessions
and/or an in-person workshop in your area. You will meet other mamas and we will sing together. No need to be a great singer! All mamas welcome!

Our workshops will be facilitated by a group of women – some of whom are refugees, some are musicians, some are mothers – and some are all those things. The project is coordinated by Dr Susann Huschke at the University of Limerick.

MAMA SING is part of a research project on singing, mental health and migration. We want to find out if singing together is helpful for refugee mothers. If we find that the MAMA SING workshops are a success, we hope to organise more workshops throughout Ireland.

We will write a report and make a short video with recordings from the workshops. We hope
that the video can highlight the issues faced by mothers in Direct Provision and shows how
music and singing can bring people together. You can choose to not be included in the
video.

We hope that taking part will bring you happiness, and that you enjoy meeting other wonderful women and making new friends. We are trained and experienced in facilitating group sessions like
these and will ensure that you leave the workshop feeling safe and supported.

Email susann.huschke AT ul.ie or whatsapp to +353-89-9864283 to register your interest or ask
us any questions that you may have. Making contact does not oblige you to take part. 7/7
