One week post-Devconnect, here’s a non-exhaustive list of presentations and panels that I think anyone interested in validating and staking on Ethereum should watch. Yes, some great stuff is missing, yes you should watch all of MEV-day, yes, yes, yes, yes…
/1
OK let’s set the stage. @TimBeiko gives us an update on the Ethereum Roadmap in the morning of @CryptoCanal's #EthDay to explain how the PoW -> PoS transition will happen, and what neat stuff is coming in the hardfork after the merge
streameth.tv/event/eth-day (1:58:22 in)
/2
One day and a few canals over, we're at @ethStaker's #StakingGathering where the main topics of discussion are around consensus layer clients, staking infrastructure, such as Distributed Validator Technology (DVT), and liquid staking.
/3
Let’s start with solo node operators. Running a @DAppNode and want to help client diversity? Learn about “DAppnode: switching between clients with two clicks'' with (@Pol_Lanski ) , looking for something else?
/4
. @Stefa2kEth explains how you can use @stereumdev to run your own validators , “Stereum” at Staking Gathering.

To help you decide which client to use, let's move to the downstairs hall…
/5
where @jgm (@AttestantIO) delivers "Selecting the best consensus client”. “We’ve looked at all of the clients… and the title of the presentation was a lie.” no spoilerino, watch the whole thing and the deep Q&A to understand what Jim means.
/6
Learn from @langers how you can participate in @Rocket_Pool, a decentralized Ethereum liquid staking protocol where anyone can be a node operator (or a staker) and “actually earn more than solo staking”

/7
While on the topic of liquid staking, @proofofjk (@stakefish) dives into the nitty gritty of liquid staking on Ethereum. “the juicy part… the moment you have a tokenized version of staked ETH, it means you want to do something with it”.

/8
What's a tweet thread without a shameless plug... “the only thing growing faster than demand for stETH is demand for Lido merch on the 2nd floor”. I present
@LidoFinance's approach to our decentralized endgame, how we plan to get there

/9
What about DVT? How can different kinds and sizes of node operators all work together to make Ethereum a more resilient network?
/9
. @AmMuroch explains how @ssv_network disperses risk and decentralizes Ethereum. "Instead of having a single point of failure, all of a sudden you can use multiple nodes to execute and run validators” at “Decentralized Staking Infrastructure”
/10
The brains behind @ObolNetwork, @StakeETH and @OisinKyne, explain how DVT can allow for seamless trust-minimized staking by anyone… "our goal is to be invisible". "Distributed Validators for Ethereum" at Staking Gathering

/11
. @AmMuroch hosts @yorickdowne, Sam Klehr of @BlockdaemonHQ, @langerstwit, @menzel_clayton, @Pol_Lanski, and myself on a panel where we discuss the merge, centralization risks for Ethereum, and the role that DVT will play in safeguarding the network

/12
Are you more into data and analysis? Does figuring out how to calculate circulating supply, optimizing native token issuance, and analyzing validator performance keep you up at night? @EFDevconnect delivered plenty for you too!
/13
. @eliasimos explains “contextualizing all the different elements of [on-chain] validator performance and then aggregating and combining all of these metrics into one effectiveness metric” at @ratedwb, “Reputation for Machines” at Staking Gathering

/14
A short ferry ride across the Ij at @ethconomics , @weboftrees drills into “Notes on Ethereum’s Circulating Supply Equilibrium and the Prospect of Minimum Viable Issuance under Proof of Stake” streameth.tv/event/ethconom… @ 1:30:16
/15
Are you wondering what the recent influx of validators into the Beacon Chain is doing to staking APRs? @LidoFinance's @ikatunya has the answers in “Modelling the entry queue post Merge: an analysis of impacts on Lido’s socialized model” streameth.tv/event/ethconom… @ 2:49:12
/16
So we’ve covered one of the big three-letter acronyms of the week (DVT), but what about the scarier one (MEV)? For that we’ll have to shift over to mev.day, where we’re greeted by the familiar faces (or PFPs, as the case may be) of venerable MEVologists.
/17
Ever the pragmatist, @ObadiaAlex explains how “the multichain world is centralized” (well... not yet) due to cross-chain MEV, and prompts us to ponder "wat do?"
/18
Expanding on the risk discussed previously, @hasufl proposes a set of strategies to combat “vertical integration in the transaction supply chain” through pre-emptively designing optimal cross-chain tx flows to increase competition between suppliers

/19
You might as well let the video keep playing, because @barnabemonnot follows up by explaining how block proposal and block building will be separated in the near future via MEV-boost and PBS (Proposer Builder Separation)

/20
Up next we have a panel where representatives from node operators and staking protocols (@ViktorBunin, @FelixLts, @LimarisT, @langerstwit, and I) discuss what challenges are posed by MEV, its extraction, and redistribution of rewards to stakers.

/21
Finally, let’s round off our day-trip to PBS-land by listening to @thegostep, @tkstanczak, @timmmmyers and @eyalmarkov as they discuss the power and importance of that block builders, and what mechanisms can be used to enforce censorship resistance.

/22
I barely scratched the surface of all of the amazing content and skills that were on display at @EFDevconnect, and I can't wait to see what @EFDevcon Bogota has in store. Until then keep building and sharing knowledge, and always remember to pack some dancing shoes.

Correct timestamp here , sorry bout the wrong link initially @Pol_Lanski !
