We remain hopeful, but prepare to march on the streets and stop the return of a Marcos in Malacañang.
The return of the Marcoses was a grand design — 10 years in the making. From their subtle return to national position in 2010 to their connivance with the ruling elite today.
1. The Marcoses are a political dynasty, Landlords, Bureaucrats. They are not leaders. They hold on to position to protect their family interest — land, power, wealth, control, authority. Not to serve the people.
2. Conniving with the ruling elite — Arroyo’s, Duterte’s, Estrada’s, and other local political warlords ensured their successful return to power. They have the political will to push for a tyrant and fascist government.
3. This connivance resulted to the control of the judiciary (Supreme Court), COMELEC, and the legislature (political dynasties) that ensured support and manipulation of the 2022 elections — from smartmatic, to vote buying, to state propaganda
4. The Marcoses will pursue violence — in the guise of national security — to silence dissent. The same policy being implemented by the NTF ELCAC and Anti Terror Law. The killings will escalate the day Marcos will return to Malacanang.
5. Marcos is not genuinely interested in helping the economy. He is a believer of dole outs to pacify clamor — kadiwa, nutribun, infra projects, etc. He has no agenda to establish industries and rebuilding the economy.
We must prepare ourselves on May 9. The dark forces have spent billions to ensure the return of their dark lord, ensured all machinations of government favor the return of Marcos.
The BPO Industry and workers will suffer under a Marcos administration.
1. Investor confidence will shrink — amidst all corruption issues, political instability, absence of macro-economic agenda
2. Job contractualization/ENDO will persist — following Duterte’s scheming agenda in 2016 of abolishing ENDO within 6 months, the same propaganda is being trumpeted by the Marcos-Duterte tandem.
3. Absence of post-covid recovery plan — workers in the BPO has suffered immensely during the pandemic. Marcos’ lack of a covid recovery plan is alarming and poses a threat to workers’ welfare.
