CSOJTF-L Commander Brig. Gen. Claude Tudor visited a C-17 parked at a little-publicized US outpost in northeastern Syria known as the Rumeilan Landing Zone a few days ago. What follows is a thread showing how @IntelWalrus and I arrived at that conclusion. 1/7
A C-17 on the 25th of September flew from OTBH to OSRZ with callsign MOOSE73 according to ACARS from @thebaldgeek. OSRZ is a new ICAO code to me, and subsequent searches (and questions from @scan_sky) made it seem that OSRZ was unknown by most people as well. 2/7
Previous work with @IntelWalrus showed that Abu Hajjar airport in northeastern Syria was also known as the Rumeilan Landing Zone (RLZ), and Mode-S pings show MOOSE73 in that area at about 18:30 UTC.

US Army MQ-1C with likely registration 11-00169 out of Mielec Airport, PO. A photo from Reuters shows @82ndCAB MQ-1C xx-0171 at Mielec, 10 days ago. Based on the similarity in registrations, 169 is likely with the same unit. #ADSB #AE51ED ImageImage
We can also see it making the classic hexagon patterns that I talked about briefly, here:
