🧵: Don’t waste your time reading western/Israeli news headlines about what happened to Shireen Abu Akleh. Hear it firsthand from the Palestinian journalists who were with her and witnessed everything:
At 6:30am, a vehicle carrying a group of journalists arrived at the first roundabout in Jenin refugee camp.
They were there to cover an Israeli raid on the camp, and a number of Israeli snipers were stationed on rooftops
Her colleague, Ali al-Samoudi, was also shot in the back.
They were both transferred to Ibn Sina hospital in Jenin, and her death was announced there.
Don't believe the Israeli lies about "exchange of fire". Don't fall for the vacuous wording of headlines.
This was targeted killing of a journalist by Israel, something which they have done with impunity time and time again. Its standard procedure for them at this point.
look at these clowns. trigger happy murderous buffoons who can't even run a decent PR response
Still processing the death of popular Palestinian leader Khader Adnan, 45, who was found dead in his cell this morning after 86 days of hunger strike in Israeli prison. This is going to be a long thread, and I know Twitter is an echo chamber but bear with me.
In total, Adnan went on 5 hunger strikes (2004, 2012, 2014, 2021, 2023) and was imprisoned by Israel 12 times - mostly on administrative detention, meaning held indefinitely without charges.
He is survived by his wife Randa Musa and his nine children.
Adnan drew international attention 11 years ago when he went on hunger strike for 66 days, drawing comparisons to the 1981 Irish hunger strikers, especially Bobby Sands, and inspiring a Palestinian hunger strike movement.
Someone make a thread of people's reaction to Israeli journalists in Doha...
Israeli journalist speaks to Lebanese fans in Arabic, tells them he’s from Israel. They walk away before coming l back to tell him it’s called Palestine, not Israel
