Schumer says he's offering a unanimous consent request with McConnell on Ukraine
Schumer says Rand Paul is the lone senator opposed to passing Ukraine aid today

He says Paul's demands to change the bill entirely, which would require kicking it back to the House, are unreasonable
Rare to see both Schumer and McConnell united in asking for unanimous consent for something -- and on the floor together to do so
McConnell urges Paul to accept a vote on an amendment to the Ukraine package
Paul speaking, sounding like he'll object to quick vote on Ukraine aid.

"My oath of office is to the US constitution...no matter how sympathetic the cause"
Paul objects to a vote on Ukraine aid today. Senate will now have to pass it next week.

McConnell thanked Schumer afterward, and they both gave each other a head nod.

Not much has changed. Rs still afraid to criticize Trump. Those who do are ostracized.

“I am very aware...at what I see colleagues who went through the same thing,” Murkowski said. “And yet it seems as if the further they get from that, it just didn’t seem to have any impact.”
Some Rs still refuse to acknowledge Biden was legitimately elected president.

“I don’t think we’ll ever really know because there wasn’t enough investigation. I just hope it doesn’t happen again,” said Sen. Tommy Tuberville

Manchin on where he stands currently on BBB and timing:

“We haven’t even seen the complete scrub from the parliamentarian ..and then we haven’t even seen the final text. And they’re still negotiating different parts of it. So we’re doing what we can.”
(Manchin declined to answer several direct questions about Schumer’s Christmas timeline and possibility of punting vote to next month)
Manchin gave reporters a list of “major bipartisan legislation” passed in the last 12 months. Is it a BBB hint? Is it a demand?Blink once for yes, twice for no??
