.@GleemanAndGeek got a patron question last week about my favorite 9 Target Field places to spend each inning at a #MNTwins game. Today’s game is our field test. Inning 1: the Plaza. Has the Met flagpole (for anthem), Kramarrczuk’s, Blue Door, Taps 34, wind sculpture, lawn.
2nd inning: Minnie & Paul’s. Walk by Kirby’s seat & mini donuts, best view of strike zone in the park, Pizza Luce & Red Cow, bar, statues, & at night you can watch/track big Minnie & Paul sign antics.
3rd innning: @summitbeer Pub OR Townball Tavern, depending on the weather. Nachos & kids’ TC Clubhouse on the way. Pub: good beer, solid view, curds nearby. Tavern: good beer, nice restrooms, townball stadium pics, Mpls Lakers parquet floor, & balcony for overlooking North Loop.
Catching up! 4th inning: sections 124-127. Primary draw: sunshine. (If it’s hot, try sections 101-104.) Also, lots of foul balls. But also, at the end of the fourth, this is where the Mascot Race is. As always, wager responsibly.
5th: EAT! Head towards home plate, the heart of eats. I get @hotindianfoods tikka, but can also recommend La Tapatia & Kramarczuk’s Polish. (Repeat: get the polish.) Also, longtime faves Turkey To Go & Tiny O’s Cuban are in stand next to Hrbek’s.
6th: @grayduckspirits Deck. head back to the left field foul pole. Get the Bomba Juice. Get the double. If you’re still hungry, get Red Cow burgers.
7th: head up escalators to 3rd deck, go behind home plate, and find the bar with Sue Nelson, the #MNTwins organist. Sing the 7th inning stretch with her. Also, she’ll say hi. Give your kids coloring pages. Lots of awesome.
