What's the point of having 20 sports channels if we are still going to miss out on major live sports? Scramble and search various OTTs before dropping the idea to watch it. Had no clue on how big the #ThomasCup2022 was. Why don't we create the necessary hype around them?
Why are our broadcasters so bloody lazy? This country has a huge appetite for sports. Right now we have 4 hrs of live game and 20 hrs of highlights, replays and stupid stuff like antakshari games involving cricketers. Where the bloody hell are live events?
I don't want to be a barsaati maindak who waits 4 yrs for the Olympics and simply dismiss our athletes when they fail to win the Olympic gold. I never even celebrated their Thomas cups!
Don't want to say "But Olympic medal toh nahi jeeta na"!!! And maybe, just maybe, similar
.. appreciation could get extended to cricket as well where a team with multiple BGT wins and away wins isn't mocked for faltering out in a world cup knockout.

Andrew Symonds. The most hated Aussie cricketer in India.
From the very first sight he seemed unconventional. No, not bcoz of his color but his demeanor. His non care attitude. Disrespecting the authority not bothering about the consequences. 1/n
The so prominent zinc cream around his lips, the dreadlocks and almost a beast like figure made him physically standout on the field. He could give a fair rip as an off spin, even bowl medium pace(rocked indian middle order at SCG in 1999),.. 2/n
..had a rocket arm that cud not just knock the stump out but break it into two. Nothing could go past him. And as a middle order batsman who came after Gilchrist, Hayden, Langer Ponting, Martyn, Waugh, Clarke and hit it the ball even more destructively than the rest,knocking..3/n

As a test batsman, @virendersehwag scored 23 100s in 104 tests(180 inngs). Over these 23 innings he made 3996 runs at an avg of 180+ and a strike rate of 83.
These innings were laced with almost 550 fours and 50 sixes in total.
The following thread is on each of those 100s and the impact Viru had. The number of runs scored by India while Viru was on the pitch compared to the runs after his dismissal.
Though the result may look skewed in favor of viru yet it gives a fair reflection of his magical impact!
1) 105(173,19 4s) vs SA 2001 Bloemfontein:

With Viru : 283/1(64)
Without Viru : 96/8(30)

*This was a rather subdued innings. Impact was because of SRT's 155.

2) 106(183, 18 4s) vs Eng 2002 Nottingham:

With Viru : 179/3(60)
Without Viru : 178/6(41)

In the following Thread i will be writing about the Test journey of Indian cricket from 1932,all the major milestones series by series. I am not a historian or a statistician so might miss out on some important events. Please feel free to add your own anecdotes and stories.
1)1932 : First Test Ever. England at Lords.
On the very 1st morning India had reduced england to 19/3. This was the last time they held the upper hand in the game.
M Nissar became the 1st indian to pick 5 wkts,
while fellow fast bowler Amar singh hit the 1st 50.
