CPCs (crisis pregnancy centers) are fake clinics intended to trick or coerce people into having to carry a pregnancy to term. Although some advertise as “medical clinics”, they offer limited services & don't follow medical standards. 1/
CPCs are everywhere, but especially in low income neighborhoods and near college campuses & real clinics
Wherever you are, you're probably closer to a CPC than you are to an abortion clinic
There are at least 148 in California alone
CPCs can be really insidious. Many have soothing websites that emphasize ethics and caring and may seem to provide information. In rl they give people unneeded ultrasounds, divert people from appointments at legitimate clinics, and worse. 3/
Some clues you may have found a CPC and not a real reproductive health clinic
🚩 they mainly offer pregnancy tests and ultrasounds
🚩 they provide information about abortions, but it's not clear if they provide them
🚩 all of their services are free 4/
🚩 they always use "baby" rather than medical terms like “pregnancy”, “fetus”, or “embryo”
🚩 they emphasize the risks of abortion 5/
🚩 they suggest that a medication abortion can be reversed
🚩 they emphasize regret or fear 6/
If a clinic you're looking at has any of these red flags, be very wary
