I am glad the court gave candidates an option to decide where they run, the new #ny22 draft is a good reason why. The district shifted dramatically west adding Oneida & losing Tompkins and Cortland and Cayuga. this will leave alot of questions about who is running where. 1/4
On the GOP side both declared candidates @Sigler4Congress (Tompkins) and Brandon Williams (Cayuga) are out of district. @claudiatenney lives in district but said she was moving to run in #ny23. 3/4
Of course new candidates could emerge as well. by May 31 we will know what the previously listed candidates will be doing if they don't announce before that. New Candidates have until June 10 to file petitions. Still lots of uncertainty after the release of the draft maps. 4/4
Sharing for news, @FDConole has announced he is staying in #Ny22 and continuing to run.
sharing for news @JoshuaUE99 has announced he is running in #NY19 which Tompkins was drawn into and is now an open seat.

This week I talk about the draft maps released by the Special Master Johnathan Cervas. These maps, if approved, will serve as the NY congressional maps for the August 23, 2022 primary and for the next ten years.
#sd50 which @RachelMayNY will presumably be the incumbent in is wholly contained in @OnondagaCounty and has @Syracuse1848, Salina, Cicero, Clay, Lysander, Van Buren, Elbridge and is a D+21.78 district
#sd53 with @SenJohnMannion will presumably be the incumbent has the rest of @OnondagaCounty (Camillus Geddes, Marcellus, Onondaga, Spafford, Otisco, Fabius, Lafayette, Tully, Pompey, Dewitt, Manlius) and goes East through Madison County and up into Utica.
