We are very excited to announce scverse (scverse.org), a new consortium around the core Python packages for single-cell omics data analysis. scverse is a cross-lab effort to ensure the longevity and interoperability of the single-cell analysis ecosystem in Python.
The scope, complexity, and importance of core analysis tools in life sciences research has outgrown individual labs and institutes. You can read more about our vision and work to address this challenge here: scverse.org/blog/hello-wor…
AnnData and MuData are our core data structures, together with scanpy for general purpose single-cell analysis, muon for multimodal analysis, scvi-tools for deep probabilistic models of single-cell data, scirpy for immune cell receptor analysis, and squidpy for spatial omics.
This is first and foremost a community effort. To get involved, please join our Zulip chat to get in touch with developers and users on any topic around scverse. The #introductions stream is a great one to start from! 👋
