It's primary day in PA and this is Philadelphia's idea of meaningful access to observe the absentee ballot pre-canvass. Note the cattle gate on the left for watchers and how far the tabulators and processing tables are on the other side of the room. @lindakernslaw Image

Big voting integrity news for the @GOP in Arizona. The RNC has intervened in two lawsuits to protect the integrity of the state's elections. Democrats want to make it impossible for Arizona to verify it's voters are citizens. 1/
They say checking a box on the application verifying citizenship is enough. It's not. Non-citizens become registered to vote across the country (often unwittingly) and election officials should have the tools they need to verify the eligibility of all who register to vote. 2/
The DNC has also threatened a lawsuit and the RNC will fight them again as we did in the DNC v. Brnovich lawsuit where Republicans won a monumental victory at the Supreme Court protecting AZ's ballot harvesting ban. 3/

The Boston Globe is wrong. Baker's concerns about illegal immigrants being registered to vote through the state's DMV are entirely reasonable and supported by precedent. 1/

In California, non-citizens were registered through the state's DMV which led even the liberal LA Times to criticize the system. 2/

Same thing happened in Illinois where hundreds of non-citizens were registered through the state's DMV system. At least 19 voted in 2020. 3/ wcia.com/illinois-capit…

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has stayed a district court ruling in FL gutting parts of the state's important voting integrity legislation passed in 2021. The 11th Circuit ruling leaves the law intact, an important victory as we approach the midterm elections. 1/
Provisions struck down by the lower court which are now back in effect include a deadline for third party registration groups to return registration applications for voters and safeguards for ballot drop boxes. 2/
The 11th Circuit also rejected the district court's order to put FL under "preclearance" which would have required the state to get approval from the district judge before enacting basically any new voting procedure. 3/

You have to love the timing of this challenge. Let's sue Virginia and see if we can get a sue and settle before the Republicans take over. Shameless. 1/
Requiring the full Social Security Number for registration is an important election integrity measure and verifies the identity of the applicant. It most certainly does not violate the Privacy Act since the Virginia Constitution clearly required the full SSN prior to 1975. ⬇️ 2/
Ironic this lawsuit would be brought the same day the 9th Circuit rejected a quite similar Anderson-Burdick claim brought by the same lawyers. (See news of our earlier big win today in AZ.) 3/

Some additional info on today's win:
1. Leading up to the 2020 election, Democrats sued to challenge the curing deadline for missing signatures on mail ballots, arguing the election day deadline was a violation of the First and Fourteenth amendments and procedural due process.
2. The @GOP and @AZGOP intervened to defend the commonsense deadline and successfully fought to ensure it was in effect for the November 2020 election. The Democrats appealed which led to today's ruling.
3. The 9th Circuit ruled that AZ had an important interest in reducing the administrative burden on poll workers, especially following an election, and the deadline created a minimal burden on voters to sign the affidavit or to correct a missing signature by election day.

Arizona election integrity news: The @GOP and @NRSC have been granted intervention to defend a recent Arizona law that ensures ballots are not automatically mailed to dead voters and those with outdated addresses.
The law removes those who fail to vote in two state election cycles (aka 4 years) from a list of voters who are automatically mailed ballots for each election.
Plaintiffs Mi Familia Vota and the press have dishonestly conflated the law with so-called "voter purges." The truth is officials must notify all impacted voters before removing them from the list, voters can easily request to remain opted-in, and they remain registered voters.
