Twitter Spaces are real live audio convos you can join from your couch. or the dog park. or the bathtub. wherever you are, really.
we want to make it easier to join Spaces whenever you want, wherever you are. the Spaces Tab is available to people on iOS and Android (English only, for now)
set a reminder for #TwitterFamous to hear about how hosting Spaces came naturally to them at 1:15pm ET / 10:15am PT! they might even share a tip or two 👀
starting today, spaces will be available on Twitter.com (mobile web, desktop web)
our focus areas:
- infrastructure and listening UI that adapts to your screen size
- setting reminders for scheduled spaces
- accessibility and transcriptions
we want to learn from your experience, and hear your feedback. let us know what you think!

now, everyone with 600 or more followers can host a Space.
based on what we've learned, these accounts are likely to have a good experience hosting because of their existing audience. before bringing the ability to create a Space to everyone, we’re focused on a few things. 🧵
we created Spaces to bring people together in an intimate way to share thoughts and tweets with the power that only the human voice can bring. Spaces is now available to millions of people but the work is not finished bc it is part of a bigger vision built with you, our community
we're focused on learning more, making it easier to discover Spaces, and helping everyone enjoy them with an engaged audience. here are some features we're working on:
- Ticketed Spaces
- Co-hosting
- Scheduling
- More block labels + warnings
- Improved captions
aye we’re live! what up y’all, we're the team behind Spaces––a small experiment focused on the intimacy of the human voice🧵
the human voice can bring a layer of connectivity to twitter through emotion, nuance and empathy often lost in text. we see this with voice tweets & voice dms. sometimes 280 isn't enough, and voice gives people another way to join the conversation.
our new experiment brings people together to connect directly in an intimate, conversational Space.
we imagine the best Spaces to feel like a well hosted dinner party. y’all rolling your eyes, we know. but stay with us!
