Ahead of SC #Freiburg's first ever #DFBPokal final on Saturday, I spoke to Director of Sport Jochen Saier and others about the club's unique path.

And as for Christian #Streich, his press conferences are legendary but this one is my favourite by far:

"Mega-performance? You're on a different linguistic level to me. I didn't see a mega-performance. I saw that we worked ('gearbeitet'). Or 'geworked.'"

🤓 Quick grammar lesson: most 🇩🇪 past participles are formed by adding the prefix "ge-" to a verb.
eg: arbeiten (to work) > gearbeitet (worked)

Streich's response was a dig at the anglicism "mega performance" in the Q, so he spontaneously anglicised "gearbeitet" into "geworked."

Finally, SC #Freiburg left their historic old Dreisamstadion this season to move into a new arena.

Nestled in the Black Forest, it remains the most beautiful football ground in Germany (and Freiburg's U23s and women are still playing there).
