To all those out there that believe Elon Musk is a stand up guy and Tesla is a great company,
I have a story to tell. Believe this story or not, I don't care. I worked through years of this crap, putting in many long days dealing with this misery...
I once worked in the Quality department for a company that made parts for Tesla, specifically, the car above πŸ‘†.
Rear cradles, left and right. Rear control arms, universal for left and right.
Poorly designed parts, poorly designed molds.
The cradle mold was a huge 2 cavity, left and right. Sand core was used to create a hollow inside (weight reduction).
The control arm mold was a huge, 4 cavity, sand core to create a hollow inside (weight reduction).
The reason the molds were so poorly designed was the simple fact, Tesla did not want to spend the money for simpler, more operator friendly molds. They were hell to operate for the team members, Tesla didn't care, we were supposed to be the best at what we did..
Now, the problem with the molds being so big, the sand cores would shift when the mold closed. This would create thin walls on the parts. Thin walled parts have the potential to crack as the car is driving down rough roads. We all know those exist!
But, most of these parts were caught, & scrapped before shipping, as they should πŸ‘
Production was going ok at the start. Quality parts were being made, enough to keep Tesla lines running. When we ran behind, Tesla forced us to expedite shipments, huge expense to a small company!
Then, a little while after production started on these parts, the company I worked for was taken over in a somewhat hostile takeover by a large automotive company (name I will not mention). Was Tesla involved? Not sure to this day, but the takeover was unexpected to most of us...
They sent in many ignorant and arrogant managers, supervisors and techs that basically took over every department in the plant, including Quality. My hands were tied, mouth was taped 🀐.
This company did not believe in scrap, waste of money in their opinion. Every part was good.
Regardless if it was cracked, failed x-ray, improper heat treat or hardness. "Ship it" was their motto. They even contacted Tesla about the issues and told them everything was shipping, Tesla turned a blind eye. Orders were increasing for vehicles and the parts were not being
shipped quick enough. Customers wanted their cars!
Now, I've done a little research and have seen many sites, forums etc expressing "Rear tires have premature wear on Tesla vehicles." And Tesla states because "It's a heavy car." πŸ€”
Now, why is EVERY car not having this problem?
I can say, with some certainty, that one or more of these rear parts have cracked, causing a shift in the rear end.
You hear a rattle in the rear? The hole on top of the cradle would become plugged with aluminum due to the core rising within the mold (thin top wall πŸ‘).
The arrogant F's from the new company would knock it through with a chisel, or worse, a steel hammer and punch. That piece would become trapped inside the hollow insides of the cradle, causing the rattle. This company is ruthless and does not care. All they care about is profit
and the bottom line. So many other issues and quality concerns, too many to write about. These I have mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg.
These cars are expensive..and potential death traps. It was a collaborative effort between this company and Tesla to ship everything,
make the cars and get them to the customer! Elon Musk gets richer every day, with every sale of one of these cars. Guaranteed he knows about the issues that have existed for years, just doesn't care. He is endangering people's lives. What happens if the tire falls off and strikes
another car? What happens if the person driving said vehicle is injured or dies? HE DOES NOT CARE! Typical capitalist, who has now officially joined the capitalist party. They care about nothing but themselves, money and power. Average Americans struggle daily, while these people
sit back, counting their cash and laughing at the people who struggle to make ends meet.
Regardless, the company I worked for no longer exists. The company that took over wasn't seeing a profit of 1 million a month, so they shut the doors. The molds and production were sent to,
get this, MEXICO, several years ago. Not sure if the parts are still being produced, frankly, I don't care πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
All I can say, there are many cars on the road today that are having issues related to the parts I mentioned. Nothing has been done, never will be...
This is just some of my story...
Like I said, believe what you will!
Think twice about giving your hard earned money to a billionaire POS. There are several EV alternatives on the market nowadays, choose wisely.
Peace ✌
