Back in October last year, Cluster API reached production readiness with the v1.0 release cncf.io/blog/2021/10/0…
Today, our end user community is growing more than ever ✨
Let's start with the incredible community behind the project: our best feature yet!
- 400+ contributors around the globe 🌎
- 1000+ unique contributions per day across all repositories 📈
- Since v1.0, Cluster API has been downloaded ~700k times. 🤯
KubeCon was kicked off this year with @fabriziopandini at @thenewstack panel talking about Cluster API amongst other things about Kubernetes.
At #KubeCon Day 1 Keynote @mercedesbenz_ti shared 7 years of running Kubernetes and how they manage close to 1000 clusters with Cluster API. sched.co/yu8F
After the Keynote, @fabriziopandini and @ereslibre talked about design patterns for extending controllers sharing the lessons learned with Cluster API.
Fast forward to the afternoon, @hegdeanusha25 and @fruit_case talked about how to create your own Cluster API provider, with lots of insights from existing maintainers!
With more than 1400+ registered attendees, a packed room, and people queued up at the entrance, @SeanSchneeweiss and @tobgiese from @MercedesBenz detailed on how to migrate existing clusters to Cluster API with zero downtime.
It has been an absolutely incredible KubeCon for the project, I feel lucky to be serving this community and be surrounded by such kind and smart folks.
Let's be amazing together!
