/ Finally heading home after an amazing week at #Permissionless2022. @Blockworks_ and @BanklessHQ really knocked it out of the park with this one. So many thoughts in my head coming down from a week of nonstop action
/ 1. I’ve never been more excited about the Arbitrum ecosystem. I had the chance to connect to so many users and builders throughout the week and the energy was unbelievable
/ I spend so much of my time deep in the technical weeds that I sometimes forget to appreciate the fact that the true power of what we’re building together is the passionate community traversing the new L2 frontier together
/ 2. Permissionless perfectly represented to me the movement of web2 into the web3 space. The value of permissionless ownership and removal of centralized control and intermediaries is understood and the opportunity which blockchains represent is clear
/ The older wave of companies larping blockchain adoption using centralized databases is over. The new wave is truly trying to understand their place in the ecosystem. This will bring waves of adoption like we’ve never seen before
/ 3. The intellectual power in this space is incredible. Gigabrains are all in the blockchain space. Nowhere else are so many people so excited to work at solving some of the most important problems out there
/ I was lucky enough to be on two amazing panels. First talking about the scaling wars with leads from some of the biggest projects in the space was a blast. Up on that stage I didn’t feel like I was just representing Arbitrum, but ethereum itself as well 💙
/ I’m a strong believer in Ethereum’s dominance through the power of L2’s, but there are exciting new innovations being explored on alternative L1s. One of the superpowers of Ethereum rollups is that they’ll let us bring the best of these ideas to ethereum itself as rollups
/ My second panel was all about cross-chain liquidity and interoperability. It’s really interesting how the problems of inter-rollup interoperability and inter-chain interoperability have so much in common. The multi-rollup future and the multi-chain future have a lot in common
/ There’s a major exception there that makes me bullish for rollups. Shared security is an incredibly powerful property which means it’s safe for applications to be multi-chain without exposing their users to different security assumptions
/ 4. In person conferences are incredibly valuable. We spend a lot of time on the internet, which is an amazing medium for connecting people across the world, but actually feeling the energy of so many people gathered together was inspirational
/ I’ve never felt more bullish on the future of this space then I do right now
