The situation unfolding is not great and far from ideal. Tomorrow is going to be a big day, where IMF will be pondering on whether it should approve the tranche, a life support for an economy in deep waters.
During the same day the 9 party alliance government will be locking horns with PTI and allies.
No harassment & picking up of people is justified & these kind of ways will only increase venom.
Additionally, shifting of channels and having barriers on freedom of expression should also be condemned under all circumstances.
The government has a precarious situation. Once bitten, twice shy, it has fears of PTI crowd taking law and order in hand as in 2014 Azadi March.
PTI counsel has not given an undertaking as requested by government in IHC which has been made basis for not allowing sit-ins by PTI and thus leading to further tensions. Coupled with this Interior Ministry is being headed by a person who is not a gentle person to say the least.
Whatever unfolds, it seems that inevitably all parties will need to move towards early elections before the scheduled election in October 2023, with or without election reforms.
Even post elections, the acceptance of results by parties is a question mark which makes the situation more gripping for all political observers. Better sense should prevail in today's massive polarisation. Praying for situation to get better soon! #MarchAgainstImportedGovt
