(1)The amount of support and people who have reached out since the Lyft/Uber incident was overwhelming. Many of you showed your appreciation, shared personal experiences, and honestly put the topic a bit more in the spotlight…some didn’t (that’s expected).
(2)I didn’t want to leave all those who took the time to express your feelings on the matter without a “comment”, so here it is: it makes ZERO sense to hate anyone because of the color of their skin. POC make our coffees, file our taxes, run the businesses we frequent,
(3) drive us, watch our children, deliver our mail, report our news, run multi million dollar companies, cook our food, and so on. You get it…Basically, skin color does not define who you are or what you’re capable of. I shouldn’t have to say it, We all know it.
(4) The reason I posted the video is because I think it’s important to extend to discriminated groups and individuals that there is a LARGE number of us that hear you, sympathize with you, feel that anger with you and WE TOO ARE DONE WITH THAT SHIT!!
(5) One bit of coverage I did happen to catch was @donlemon’s segment regarding the matter. After he played the video, he can be seen sighing heavily. That sigh broke me. It shows a black man, seeing that hate, (as I’m sure he has before) and his reaction
(6) was one of pure exhaustion. That’s exactly how i felt in that moment and still feel. TIRED OF IT. I hope I’m correct in saying that change is most assuredly coming. The generations of racist, bigoted and hateful people will come to an end
(7) I don’t know when, but I feel it has to be soon considering the amount of like minded people who have reached out to show support. I will not extend an apology on behalf of hateful people because it would be falsified and I don’t speak for anyone but myself…
(8)but for my part in it-all the sly, underhanded comments I’ve heard, been uncomfortable with, and let slide in my life-I’m sorry. I hope everyone who hears/sees discrimination, stands up and says something. Make them uncomfortable. A lot can be learned from humility#fuckracism
