The AICO Act has always been explicitly targeted at #BigTech platforms. It never included a provision for broadband providers -- nor should it, because they are completely different services that require different rules 2/
AICO is a targeted bill borne out of an in-depth Congressional investigation into specific platform markets. Every company in the world but the small handful meeting the very specific definitions and thresholds in the bill is technically “exempted” 3/
Senator Klobochar also has a broad antitrust reform bill, CALERA, which applies across the economy. We also support this bill, but it hasn’t been marked up yet 4/
Big Tech is trying to pass off simple clarifications in the bill as nefarious exceptions to rile up those who haven’t been paying attention. Don’t listen to their misdirection 5/
AICO doesn’t include #NetNeutrality because AICO isn’t about broadband networks, it's about #BigTech platforms. We still need strong #NetNeutrality for broadband networks, but they have to be much stronger than what’s in AICO 6/
Anyone who is serious about #NetNeutrality rules should be upset that Congress hasn’t voted for a 5th @FCC Commissioner yet, not upset about bills that break down the power of dominant tech platforms 7/7
