I am part of the negotiations team that is bringing you a new contract to vote on. It was a long, drawn-out process that gave me a lot of new insights into how we can make this process better and more accessible to everyone. I want to emphasize that the fight isn't over. 1/
We, the negotiations team, are not here to tell you that everything is done. We're here to pass the baton to you, the membership, to decide where we go next. It's now your job to attend the next GMM on the 31st and the next Town Hall to hear what the tentative deal entails. 2/
You, the membership, have a job that's more important than all of the negotiators' combined: you have to VOTE on whether or not to ratify! This is THE most important way that our union receives feedback on what you think of this progress. 3/
If you're a TAG member, log in to your dues portal TODAY, right now, and check that you're up-to-date and able to vote! If you're a newer member, call the office to ask when you will be eligible! We need you showing up in droves to make your voice heard. #NewDeal4Animation

Yup! We are the only board-driven show at Nickelodeon at the moment. Board-driven is hard work for virtually no raise in pay for the scriptwriting we do, but it makes shows funnier, stranger, and more connected to the medium itself.
In the last decade or so, board-driven shows have become less desirable among studio execs who want more creative control over the content. Showrunners and creatives from animation are given less freedom over the stories they tell compared with 90’s cartoons.
Board-driven writing is what gave Spongebob the irreverent humor we try to emulate today. Writing on shows like Billy & Mandy and Dexter’s shine with timing and visual gags only possible with board-driven writing, a tradition carried through Regular Show and Adventure Time.
