The following is from my buddy, now a pastor, once a cop, some very needed perspective on the #UvaldeMassacre “While I do find the sudden outbreak of mass shootings very suspicious in our political situation I do have some observations from my time in Law Enforcement: (continued)
1) While it seems counter intuitive; the scariest time for officers to get stuck in a loop of not acting is when there are a large number of officers present. I know of incidents where officers were clearly justified in shooting someone but no one did. In my opinion… /cont.
when a large number of officers are on scene you dont want to be the person that makes a bad decision so often times everyone is waiting on someone to make the first move. If a solo officer or a couple are on scene they typically will act faster because they are relying… /cont.
on their instincts alone and not group think. I’m guessing if you had honest statements from those officers, many wanted to go in but felt they couldnt because no one else was making the move. 2) I have been in training scenarios for school shootings before where senior…/cont.
officers are giving orders that do not line up with the latest tactics but felt trapped feeling like I knew what needed to happen but I am being ordered to do something different by a senior commander that is not tactically minded. The report I saw was the school system… /cont.
police chief was the one calling the shots, that is typically a pretty political position and honestly one more involved with paperwork and administration that being the ones going into the breach. Not an excuse for inaction, more an example of the wrong person calling… /cont.
the shots; reason for more police training. 3) As Christ followers we need to be in prayer for these officers. I saw a post just this week of an officer that killed himself after dealing w/ the guilt of not preventing another officer from being shot. Officers processing… /cont.
critical incidents much less traumatic than this horrific incident find themselves second guessing and reliving the events. I can not imagine the guilt these officers feel and the way the enemy will use that to attack them. I pray that they have chaplains and counselors… /cont.
that are ministering to them as I type this. The entire town is grieving and the one ultimately responsible is dead so it is natural to turn their anger to those that made mistakes (which clearly many were made) but I know that this will drive those officers to feel… /cont.
even more depressed & alone after the most traumatic event of their lives. May God comfort all of those that lost their children and loved ones, and those that were wounded both physically and mentally by the events that day.” This was a good word & something I hadn’t thought of.

The majority of mega churches operating like Fortune 500 companies instead of Acts 2-28 churches:
Senior Pastor (should be plurality of elders) calls a meeting to discuss why youth ministry has decreased in attendance. Youth pastor vows to do whatever he can to increase…
Student Ministry sacrifices depth and doctrines for emotionally laden appeals and door prizes. Bible study becomes a midweek hookup party, teenagers graduate, families aren’t taking Deut 6 seriously (unhealthy church dependency, go family equipping ministry model instead)…
High school graduates enter college (learn a trade or go online, secular campuses are liberal breeding grounds) and soon with no knowledge of their faith add to an increasing millennial drop off rate. Evangelicals assess, and they come to the conclusion…
Those who mock the Lord and His Word WILL be in hell for eternity, apart from redemption in Christ. Knowing that, we shouldn’t follow nor support those who do. Great example of this (and the culture LOVES him) is @kvministries Kris Vallotton, pastor @BethelRedding: “And there’s…
…a man standing there. Like, I can see with my eyes. Like a really big guy. I’m laying on my back so I don’t know how tall he is- close to seven foot probably. And he’s got wrestling tights on. He’s got no shirt on. He got no shirt on and he’s built like Arnold Schwarzenegger…
…but about a foot wider. He’s got coal black hair. He looks like a Native American. He’s got deep black eyes, and he’s got his hands. He’s got his arms like this. And he stared at me like he’s really angry. He’s just staring at me. Like this. He doesn’t say a thing.
And I just…
