Good morning! I had a great Friday away from Santa & the morality police (aka convoy, aka 1776RevMvmt).

Today's schedule:
9am mtg
12pm rally at the site

Unclear if there will be streamers, a few said they're going to DC for Rolling to Remember. 1 of n

It turns out the meeting was at 8am today, I thought Santa said 9am during last night's meeting but telegram said 8. Sorry to any of those who like to watch live. There's a new (to me) streamer at camp so we should have eyes on today, I'm watching the mtg recording now. 2 of n
No additional big news from the meeting, just logistics on their rally setup for today. Based on yesterday's telegram post it sounds like they're still going to DC on Sunday. I can only imagine how bad traffic will be with holiday traffic on top of R2R road closures. 3 of n 1776 Restoration Movement B...
So far the 1776RM rally is small and the speaking portion doesn't seem to have started yet. That's nice b/c now I have time to catch up on stuff I missed yesterday, like a particularly hateful streamer claiming their car was vandalized by "antifa". 4 of n
Rally is over. Nothing really novel in the bits I listened to- Simon read some speeches, some dude talked about convention of states, the usual speakers said the usual stuff. I'm not sure if there will be a mtg tonight or not, so I'll leave the thread open for now. 5 of n
Also today, this odd vehicle (crane? tow truck? other?) showed up and was part of the rally setup. afaik it wasn't around last week, but few of us think it looks familiar. Does anyone remember it, maybe from TPC's first Hagerstown stay? #convoywatch 6 of n
Ok, that's it for today. tl;dr- the rally was not massive but some people did show up. It was boring. Tomorrow they have church at 11am, no mention of DC by Santa so the main group may not be going to the rolling to remember event after all. 7 of 7, end of thread

Great thread on a real issue, esp b/c twitter's attribution doesn't link to the OG tweet. @stevanzetti's thread had so many great pics, vids, quotes, etc. People who only saw this one embedded video missed out on the richness and depth that can come from otg, real time reporting.
I also wonder why someone would choose to emphasize only one video, totally removed from the context of the rest of the reporting. Maybe for clout, or maybe they have more sinister reasons for cherry picking info in this potentially deceptive way.
If I used quote or piece of data from AuthorX in an academic context & I linked to a list of every paper that AuthorX had ever had published, I'd be laughed out of the room and possibly even accused of plagiarism. But that's what twitter does when attributing an embedded video.

It's 9:40 am on May 18 and TPC (the pointless convoy) is fueling up at the AC&T on Hopewell Rd in Hagerstown. I'll be following along via live streams and/or zello and will be following their travels on this live tweet thread. 1 of x
During the morning meeting organizers say they plan to do one beltway lap today to let DC know they're back (ugh.) During the morning meeting the convoy organizers said they will not be trying to go into DC today (but sometimes they lie). So I guess we'll see. 2 of x

Today is May 17. TPC (the pointless convoy) is scheduled to refuel at 7am, which usually this takes an hour or more. The convoy will then drive 180 miles (no stops) to their DC base in Hagerstown, MD. Good morning everyone! Based on the livestreams, it looks like the convoy rolled out of Brookville, PA shortly after 8am. It's 8:45am and they just passed mile marker 107 on I-80e in Pennsylvania. 2 of x
It's 10am. The convoy is currently crawling along on Route 350 east, they've got another 5ish miles to go till they get on I-99 south and 120ish miles to go to Hagerstown. At usual convoy speeds the eta in Hagerstown is 1pm then they'll refuel before going to the speedway. 3 of x

Today is May 16. TPC (the pointless convoy) is scheduled to refuel starting at 7am. It will likely take at least an hour. After fueling they will drive to Brookville, PA where they will sleep Monday night. This is a timed tweet in case I oversleep. 1 of x
