The phone bell rang ominously almost at 5 am. I felt apprehensive but somehow managed to pick up.
My friend from Pakistan asked without any greetings, "Is your family alright in Lahore?"
On hearing her horrified voice,a tidal wave of panic ran through my spine. 1/8
"What happened" I asked, she just said, "Turn on the TV" and hung up.
Horror stricken I turned on the TV and it was broadcasting live, the terror attacks on two Ahmadiyya Mosques in Lahore.
I was completely numb....the only thing I felt was that I may die of this pain.....

My father & brothers used to go to Baitul Noor & never missed Jumma.
My brother used to perform security duty at the main gate of the mosque.
I kept sitting silent & numbed for sometime that seemed ages. Then I mustered some courage to call my father. He picked up the phone

"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat is a peace loving true Muslim Jamaat. Thus there will be no improper reaction from any Ahmadi. Our salvation lies in our supplication to God Almighty & we believe that He has & always will help us."

This tragedy has its roots in the way the State of Pakistan discriminates against Ahmadis. The Asian HRC, Amnesty, UNO directly or indirectly conveyed that the legal sanction provided to discrimination against Ahmadis is the cause of the hatred that has led to this massacre.
