I want to clarify somethings about my story. I was a healthy 29 year old, living a fast paced life. I had a high stress, high paying federal career with thousands of lives on hundreds of airplanes in my hands every day.🧵
I loved my job and I finally "made it". I got the vaccine under threat of loosing the career I had trained 12 years for. The day I went in for my first & only vaccine my life changed. I immediately had chest pains, shortness of breath and dizziness. About 3 day later I noticed🧵
my mind wasn't able to keep up. I couldn't concentrate or recall information quick enough like I used to. It's like my brain was on a dimmer switch. My medical certification needed for my job was taken away and rightfully so. 🧵
Fast forward 7 months, and about 35 doctors gaslighting me, and putting me through bullshit I finally get a diagnosis of POTS. The diagnosis criteria is a heart rate change of 30 bpm or more within 10 mins of standing up. Mine changed 44 bpm during my test.🧵
I want to be clear about this, my symptoms are caused from my brain not getting enough blood. Because of this, the signals from my brain to the rest of my body are dysfunctional. The symptoms I posted are not mild & they are not from age, normal "wear & tear" or other ailments🧵
The covid vaccine brought on my symptoms all at the same time out of nowhere. & yes, I "shouldn't have gotten it in the first place". I didn't want the vaccine, but I didn't want to lose my career more. I guess not everyone can understand that because they don't love their jobs🧵
This is partially a response to the little negativity I've gotten, but more than anything, I want everyone to understand my story better.
Thank you to everyone showing support, this isn't an easy thing to talk about, but I'm glad I've got the space to do it! (End 🧵)
